On the face of it, some interesting connections there from RAM but timetables may mean there are fewer than it initially looks.

New 6 weekly AMS flight by Vueling from 28th March.

VY8054 AMS 1820 MAN 1850
VY8055 MAN 1930 AMS 2155

Every day bar Saturday's using A320

Fail to understand the logic behind this one, but, hey ho!

Well, 6 weekly versus 6 daily probably won't worry KLM too much.

I don't think even Easyjet or Flybe will be that concerned either.

BA are possibly waking up to the fact that Manchester is not quite the backwater they thought of in the past.
It does not mean they should or will have any substantial operation from there again but I can not believe for a second it has not crossed their minds considering how the airport has really established itself as a big player.

Well, if the cost base at Gatwick for SH is what they say it is, and if they can keep their reputation post BOB - then there is no reason why they cant compete from the regions - be it BHX, MAN or even EDI.

To be honest, that evening slot might be a smart move, None of the current carriers offer an evening departure from Manchester to Amsterdam. As a regular user I always thought that was an omission. KLM had one in the past but dropped it, and all other departures are before 6PM. You won't serve the transfer passengers with it arriving around 10PM on Schiphol but there's enough 'Dutch' traffic to justify this slot.

They might do well with the weekend break market, with a Friday evening departure after work has finished, and returning Sunday evening.

KLM offer a departure at 1935 incidentally daily except Saturday, which is the same as the new 1930 flight by Vueling....

A 2 weekly Vueling LPA-MAN from April as part of expansion from that base. Other routes from LPA will be CPH/VIE/BRU/SDQ.

No times or days info released yet though.

? I'd like to see the source for that as the KLM app only offers 5 a day outbound from MAN with last departure at 17.30

I think your app needs updating, as the later flight is bookable on all platforms as is 6 daily flights, this is the KLM website at the time of posting:

Ah. Fair enough. I was looking in their current winter schedule (tried a date in Feb 17). You have gone into April and the evening flight is back. That makes the Vueling decision peculiar indeed.

With almost 87,000 pax in Oct on MAN / AMS is a very good route and rising at a fast rate of 18% I don`t really see a problem
