BCEGI appoints Ashurst to head up PR activity - Manchester Evening News
BCEGI "appear" unconcerned re referendum....
"unless of course this is a timing issue and the appointment is yet to catch the curve re Thursday ?
Hopefully they have been assigned to accentuate the positives, not damage limitation !

Don't know what American are playing at, but the Chicago 787 flight is cancelled again tomorrow- that's twice in less than a week. I would have thought this was one of their busier periods.

The a/c that was due to operate the cancelled flight earlier in the week is exactly the same one that is down for tonights trip, but checking there is nothing wrong with it as it has just arrived in ORD from NRT. The loads showing look healthy enough. No idea what they are doing.

I will say that it's very unprofessional to have two cancellations within a week considering they should at least be able to find a B752 or B763 to fill if it's a B788 issue.

Saudia operate the -900 here, I think that's the only one currently, then we may see the likes of SIA and maybe Cathay but saudia were the first regular operator of the -900 if I'm not mistaken

Of all the B787s that have come into Manchester
Boeing house B788 on test
LOT B788 on maintenance
Thomson B788 delivery/base, B789 delivery plus pax flight
Virgin Atlantic B789 training
Saudia B789 scheduled service
United B788 divert
Qatar B788 scheduled flights
American B788
So only three 787-9 operators.

Credit the BBC who depending on the reporter "occasionally", get the story right.....
Surely, by now, stock markets should be through the floor and sterling engaged in a gutsy grapple with the Zimbabwean dollar for the crown of least-liked currency on global markets?
It hasn't quite happened like that - despite some apocalyptic warnings before the referendum.
Today the FTSE 100 is up more than 2% and is now above its level for all of June save referendum day.
The FTSE 250 - a better barometer of British business health - is up nearly 2%, though still significantly lower than it was on referendum day, its highest for the year, when many market participants believed Remain would win on 23 June.
Government borrowing costs are falling.
And sterling has stabilised.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The markets will of course ebb and flo, but will anything that happens in the next 2 years be more siesmic ?
.....Norwegian /Ryanair might need to dispel any rumours of retrenchment.
In case of Norwegian there was a suggestion re BHX that they have pulled the plug. I'm hearing rumours from the airport that Brex has made no difference to their plans at least in terms of MAN. Delays were due regulatory issues...possibly resolved. Anybody hearing likewise?

As I Promised on 17th June, Easyjet have announced the 2 winter routes.
Gran Canaria 2 weekly from 2nd Nov, Turin 1 weekly from 10th Dec.
Not going to set the heather alight, however, every little helps.

Hopefully the growth of long haul from MAN can continue in the post-Brexit world. The commonwealth countries seem to be as good a place to start as any - as well as the usual suspects like the USA and China.
Good work by MIDAS. More input from the other cities who have benefit from these services would be a good next step.

Well returned to MAN T1 last night, and it was one of the worst experiences ever. 45 mins to get through Border control, then when we finally got through, the bags still didnt come through for another 10 mins. May have to look elsewhere next time.

Clearly luck is a major factor. Outbound T3 05:45 (time at security) Wed 29th through security no queue whatsoever ... found myself directly at the x-ray scanners ... caught me out slightly! Departure lounge was busy as well, plenty of passengers around. Return landing T3 around 20:30 Thu 30th again negligible queue at border control. Aircraft to landside in about 5 minutes. Can't fault any of that.
