One thing which might cause a wry smile amongst one or two; with the integration of Ei into IAG, if you search for DUB-JFK on the BA website, it offers you first the non-stop AA service and then, right below, connecting service EI to MAN and then AA to JFK. Connections via London appear below that.

Seems to only do it if you are constructing a multi-stop itinerary; pops up throughout the year then.

The Heavy Hour

Late-morning / midday already sees a fair number of heavy departures out of MAN but next summer looks positively leaden. On some days around midday there will be heavies hauling ass non-stop to LA, Hong Kong, and Beijing as well as the all the 7-8 hour sectors.

What's also interesting with this news is that in 2016, Manchester introduces 4 long haul routes which will be in the top 5 longest flights from Manchester.

The top 5 longest flights from Manchester will be:

Phuket at 12:19 flight time
Mauritius at 12:16 flight time
Hong Kong at 11:35 flight time
Los Angeles at 10:25 flight time
Beijing at 10:20 flight time

All but Hong Kong are new routes for 2016! Quite impressive really.

Interestingly, if it were non stop, Singapore would be the longest route at 13:05 flight time.

Singapore have mooted a direct flight again for a while now, but seems to get delayed again and again.

That said, Düsseldorf direct from SIN on SQ looks to be announced soon, so one would hope the established routes of MAN and MUC could get stand alone route each again.

Hopefully they actually commit this time.

Following the rumours in DUS regarding this new long-haul flight.

Looks like if it will be SQ then SIN-DUS-MAN while SIN-MUC without any tag-on.

But maybe this new long-haul flight might not be SQ.

Delta will upgrade the JFK flight to a B767 from 28th March

With this, the flight numbers also change to DL421/422, as the DL234/235 is changed to the new PIT-CDG flight.

Fully confirmed and bookable on the delta website and GDS.

LAX

Re the Delta, their website shows 221 outbound and 421 inbound. Also the departure time from MAN seems to keep changing from 1250 to 1100 to 1115.

Can you check if possible to see whats what.

many thanks.

It's showing DL421/422 in GDS but DL421/221 on Delta website, so, I'd go with the Delta website numbers to be fair.

Not sure what's prompting the constant time changes though.

On a different point I see the planning application for the new car park and bus depot/garage near the RVP has finally been approved.

Do we know when work may start as this seems among others essential to the first part of the redevelopment.

Re the Delta upgrade.
It was a 763 on Friday. I was sat waiting in T3 for a flight when it taxied past. The AA55 was downgraded to a 757 - hard to keep up these days

Apparently we are going to see some real movement in construction across several areas next May.

The RVP stuff starts, the car parks near T2 start and finally, some actual offices/hotels in the Airport City development will begin.

The cargo part of Airport City will also see another warehouse built apparently too, but I'm unsure who for.

Woohoo! Will consider this flight in future (TATL 757s are a no no for me generally). Even better, I see award space has been released. I tried to get an award ticket on the service before and there was nothing in J for whole months.

Pegasus

We would also like to introduce services to Manchester from our Sabiha Gökçen hub in time for the start of next year’s summer season.

Really odd this one - Carcassonne and Limoges have now vanished from the FR drop down list of destinations from MAN. Also Biarritz is still there despite not having operated for at least the last couple of years. Does anyone know what FR are playing at?

the SIN-DUS service is going to be 3 weekly using A350s. No MAN tag-on as their release says daily MAN-MUC

New FR routes are back now. Don't know what happened probably my FR app hadn't updated properly as the website was fine.
