Known Ryanair increases/decreases versus S15 so far.
Decreases:
Tallinn, was 3 weekly now dropped
Shannon, was daily now 5 weekly
Total: -5 flights
Increases:
Barcelona, was 7 weekly now 14 weekly
Palma, was 12 weekly now 13 weekly
Alicante, was 12? Weekly now 14 weekly
Ibiza, was 4 weekly now 7 weekly
Dublin, was 35 weekly, now 42 weekly
Rome CIA, was 7 weekly now 9 weekly
Milan BGY was 7 weekly now 9 weekly
Bremen, was dropped, but re-instated at 2 weekly
Valencia, was 2 weekly now 3 weekly
Girona, was 2 weekly, now 3 weekly
Total: +27 flights
Not a bad start, and there will without doubt be more to come. I may have missed some decreases, however, so, feel free to add if I have.

Perhaps we should instead be saying I hope there is still scope for MAN T3 to accommodate RYR capacity increases at MAN. I don't believe that Ryanair is short of airframes available for MAN, but T3 is certainly short of stands for them to use.

Ryanair
Guys, thanks for your considered responses to my posting, some great food for thought. It is very much the change in emphasis, with secondary French airports disappearing from the destination board that prompted my query - which was whether there is a risk in the revised strategy. We don't have crystal balls so we don't know. I would remind posters though of the RBS/ Goodwin and TESCO/ Leahy styles of management and changes in business emphasis and ask them to consider the Ryanair/MOL relationship when asserting that there is no risk whatsoever. There certainly appears to be a greater appetite to go head to head with more established carriers. I also wonder whether the China slowdown may have implications for the residual values of older 738s which have been cash cows in the past. Shed - whilst not strictly for this thread, note the LPL - DUB has gone from 3 per day by based aircraft to 4 per day of which 3 are by Dublin based aircraft which goes some way to mitigate the apparent loss of a based aircraft.

eye2eye5,
I suspect since Ryanair are in a position of cost leadership they certainly will have no concerns about winning in opposition to any carrier for point to point traffic. With rumours of a Vueling base at MAN, I expect Ryanair ensure they are in all the various markets/ routes, just to make MAN that little bit less attractive?

Ryanair.
Having rechecked the schedules as they presently stand, there are 7 a/c required each day for the early wave of departures in August 2016. I'd missed the 4 x weekly to ACE when suggesting only 6 were needed on 4 days.
I came up with a total of 228 weekly departures for dates in August 2016, so I was slightly surprised to find in the ACL report for the start of summer this year that it showed 438 Ryanair movements - 219 departures - for the peak week. Whether that actually happened I don't know, but with the extra net frequencies currently showing for next year it seems rather odd. But were there not 8 based a/c in August this year?
Things will no doubt change and it will be interesting to see the extent of such changes when Shed does his analysis and then compared to the final outcome.

Does anybody know how Rouge have done this summer?
Under the disguise of Air Canada it's one airline which has gone under the radar!
Also according to routes online all the new Volga services are ex US but operating into a Moscow hub........is that a worry economically and politically before we even start ? Ukraine is still a problem and now we have US UK and Russian fighter aircraft attacking IS in the same airspace. The potential for accidental shoot down is high with all the ramifications that will entail.

The routes ex-MAN to the U.S. on Air Bridge Cargo will be direct, not via Moscow.
They have applied for a UK AOC and aircraft will be based at MAN. Moscow will just be another route.

Moscow
On the subject of Moscow I think we can rule out any early resumption of passenger flights to Moscow after Easyjet drop the MAN connection next month.
The Russian aviation industry is in turmoil - only last week Aeroflot bought a 70% share in Transaero for the princely sum of 1 Rouble ! Now if they'd asked me really nicely I might just have lent them another third of a Rouble so they could buy the whole lot

Air Transat for 2016 have confirmed Montreal-Glasgow and lets hope MAN gets Montreal too. They also mention higher capacity aircraft on Toronto route for MAN so likely we will see the A330-300 over the 200:

Same as GLA, but the A330 makes a regular appearance on the YYZ route.

Keib 92.
At present their is just 1 seat extra on TS 333s over the 332s..The reason. the 333s are 8 abreast and the 332s are 9 abreast.
Perhaps TS will jump on everyone elses bandwagon as squeezing more in is the name of the game at present.

Gerry O'Neill
Whilst poking around in some other forums, I found this piece of MAN related bad news that some of you may have missed
Spent many happy hours in Gerry's company over the years.. He was a great character and played an important part in the development of business aviation at MAN during his time at NEA.
RIP Gerry
Its with great sadness that I have to report the passing of Gerry O'Neill last week most famously known from Northern Executive Aviation (EGCC). I am sure anyone who knew Gerry will agree what a huge loss this is to the whole business aviation family. Gerry will forever I am sure be remember by all for his fantastic sense of humour and massive professionalism throughout his many years in aviation.
Gerry's funeral is on 15th September, 1300 at Altrincham Crematorium. Gerrys family have requested donations rather than flowers.

VUELING
It seems Vueling have got flights loaded from BCN to LPL, LBA and NCL for next summer 2 or 3 time weekly.
MAN showing BCN daily with a 15.30 departure but no other destinations direct yet as far as I can tell.
