Well Flybe opened up LCY-RNS in competition with SEN-RNS a couple of summers ago so it's a possibility.

In Antwerp Flybe is mentioned as the prime candidate to take over the route.

Flybe and Stobart are two different airlines and certainly with the rumours that Stobart will no longer operate as Flybe from next summer.

Personally I expect Eastern Airways as Flybe to start operating this route with the Saab 2000. They should have a Saab and trained LCY crews available since their contract with BA for the IOM route just fininshed.

It has been suggested in a German forum by a rather reliable person from within the industry that an UK airline is likely to take over VLM / SHS Antwerp (if true, undoubtedly to get hold of an EU AOC for post-Brexit times). Not sure which UK airlines are in the market for an EU AOC, but I seem to remember flybmi and Flybe have expressed an interest in the past to get a foot in the door on the continent. Any others?

Both already have EU ops so would need an EU AOC I wonder if Eastern would consider one? Or Jet2?

Does Eastern still serve the French domestic routes (I think Rodez is still on, isn't it?)? If so, they would need an EU AOC.

Flybe, if I am not mistaken, no longer has domestic services in France (other than the Eastern franchise routes).

flybmi of ocurse has a ton of services from Germany to other EU member states.

What is Jet2's exposure to Brexit as far as post-Brexit intra-EU flying is concerned?

With Flybe don't they still run ATRs for SAS?
The only thing i can think of with Jet2 is there Alicante base. I know it's just to the UK but they might want to to be cautious about it and also in the winter don't they operate charter work? So they might not want to exclude themselves from that?

I think it was a majority-owned EU subsidiary (Flybe Nordic). It was sold to Finnair in 2014 anyway and now trades as Norra.

They did own Norra, which Danish Air Transport just bought 60% off. But they also operate ATR72s for SAS (an agreement launched after Norra was sold off). https://www.flybe.com/media/news/1509/21

And any other UK airline wanting an EU AOC would need to meet the local ownership rules.

Yes, it is an amazing tale. If you can’t read Dutch, Google Translate gets about 95% of it. Well worth a read.
