VLM Airlines has announced on June 22nd 2016 that they will be filing for bankruptcy after what has seemed to have been a promising start to the airline’s relaunch. They posted on Twitter that all flights have been cancelled and that operations have been permanently suspended.

Vlm`s original founder will enter talks with creditors tomorrow morning regarding saving the company, with a view to keeping between 25-100 staff and initially operating charter and ad hoc services and then expanding into the scheduled market.

A real shame! I enjoyed my many flights with VLM. Great crew and the best coffee I have ever been served in flight.

Following cessation of services, where does the airline fleet currently reside?

Word has it almost all VLM pilots have been taken on by Flybe...

I don't why it's at DND at the moment but I believe it's due to operate a DND-SEN pax charter on Friday of this week.

Pity Waterford is ‘mothballed’ as that was an established route from Luton.

Looking at the planned timings, and bearing in mind Antwerp's close proximity to Brussels, I don't have too much hope for the BHX route to be a success. It will have very limited appeal to the business community who can complete a day's business using Brussels Airlines to & from Brussels. As for leisure travel, a Monday to Friday operation won't bring in too many punters from that field.
