D-Day..
Has everyone else abandoned this Forum since The Event?
Let's try again from Today with The Airport, Mark 11.

Seems they have got a category 3 licence back so Citywing can bow use the airport.
I wonder if the Red Arrows will use Blackpool again?

Well Ernest, I think it's really a case of "From Small Acorns".....
Flights next spring are definitely the way to go. It's all got to be built again from scratch. Personally, I'm optimistic. Ok, it could have been a different management company, but at the end of the day beggars can't be choosers. At least the ball's now rolling once again..
And on that,
Merry Xmas..!

I see from the Private Flying forum thread on Blackpool that crazy charges are now the order of the day for GA.
Roger Robin quote;
It is worth reading the last handful of posts.
Roger Robin quote;
yes I used Hangar 3, the only phone number I could find to arrange PPR, the costs was landing £25.80, handing £16.50,
parking £10.50, ATC runway slot co-ordination £16.50 all plus 20% and then 3% credit card fee, total £85.65.

Yet the poster before says the airport charged £10 +VAT
I like it how folk rush to believe a first time poster who quotes what an FBO charged, not what the airport charged.
If the NATS.AIS is up to date there are no handling charges below 5000kg

Or better still look on the previous page at post #159
The guy quoting the huge charges looks to have been "ripped off" by the FBO
Sounds like you were handled by Hangar 3 or J-Max?
The fees for landing are £8.60 + Vat per 500KG. (You get 50% discount for pre-booked training flights.) First 2 hours parking is free then £2.70 + Vat per 500KG per 24 hours or part of.
Avgas is £1.52 + Vat.

Hi Folks
I am the poster on the Private Pilot thread that was charged around £10 only , that was firstly in April and then second visit in May , the aircraft weighs 450 kg.
Hope this clarifies , no hassles and no handling fees at that time.
As soon as I get another chance I'll be in there again , but not sure about any actual revised published fees as yet ????

So Blackpool has re opened? It's like a ghost town, landed in December when it re opened and managed to finally pay the landing fee this week!
They really have not got a scooby on how to attract new business! Look at the proposed opening at Church Fenton. They organised a fly in with over 250 aircraft visiting on the day even with half of the country being fogged out! Landing fee was £10, what a buzz that day was!
So come on BPL what is your plan? Aviation or building site. PA28 landing fee £20.64

The owner of the petition to reopen Blackpool Airport has just emailed everyone to say:
"Expect big news about Blackpool Airport by the end of the week. Whether it'll be positive or negative is unknown, as is what exactly the news will be. "
Does anyone know to what he is referring?
