Powdair.

Do you think the 11 weekly flights from LCY to Sion will affect the SEN loads? I wonder what aircraft will operate into LCY? I doubt if the CL200 is suitable. With so many flights on offer from the London area, I just have my doubts.........

I`m not sure the Stobart model is very common at all.It is a most unusual model...they own the lease on the aerodrome, constructed all facilities inc the terminal & control tower & railway station & carparks they also control a lot of other ancillary spinoffs, even a recently advertised helicopter shuttle service is managed by Stobart Air & stand to be corrected the BizAv "terminal" is probably managed by them too....not of course forgetting Stobart Air itself the airline, currently engaged in a large push for pax at their own airfield...

CAA Passenger stats. (G-INFO)

Are the passenger figures provided both inbound and outbound terminal passengers combined?

Just a guess but at some point consolidation will take place. If and when that happens there will be winners and losers

While not as prolific as Southend many UK airports build all their own facilities. The difference is that those airports then lease the facility out to a third party and contract the staff in to operate those facilities again via a third party.

I've read elsewhere that Powdair plan to have two S2000 in the fleet and assume that they would be used on the LCY flights. But twice daily from LCY year round and 3 x daily from Sion to Zurich? That does sound extremely ambitious.

That will be cheap for Stobart, scheduled due to demand or due to Tech issues again?

Stobart are chartering aircraft on an ACMI basis from Flybe for the new routes so if an aircraft under the ACMI contract goes tech, Flybe are the ones who have to buy-in cover from Titan. I'm sure Flybe can cover a 73-3 charter with the ACMI rates they are charging.

SAGA Holidays are now offering flights from Southend, including to Cyprus - intriguing, but probably an error, unless EZY are going to have a go.....

Cyprus looks like an error - if you try to follow through the booking process for a Southend-Cyprus holiday it shows EasyJet Southend-Faro as the flight option!...a bit of a long airport > resort transfer that!

How is Southend doing on the business jet front. Any improvements in attracting more business?

It may be a good all year destination but I don't think the runway at SEN could accommodate a flight to Cyprus.

I see Cityjet are dropping routes from LCY. Do you think this has significance here?
