What a great decision , Stobart may have issues running an airline but the airport is fantastic ! No queues , security staff who were friendly...car park £60 for a week and two mins from terminal.
And on return 12 mins from chocks on to walking out with my bags, they had as many border staff as LTN does
The airport is great and as , hopefully, more people get to experience it then the word will get out there
Well done STOBART
Hi mudcity.

Thankyou for your response to your experience at SEN. It would be good if you posted it on the LTN page as well!

But as been posted before, it's easy to be great when you're small and then the word gets out and more and more people experience it...

Stobart may have issues running an airline ..... I would refer the Honorable member to their operation in DUB & IOM, so perhaps a "little" harsh as they are yet to bring the new jet operation at SEN fully in house ...... Please note Ppruners I did say a little as the start has not been the smoothest, but I just felt it worth a mention that the rest of the airline ticks on a treat

And Cork of course !

Easy recruitment

That doesn't really surprise me. Remember a while back they were recruiting as they were going for expansion at ALL their uk bases. Don't ask me to look for it, but this was a post on this forum some while ago.

Just appeared on Echo's website. They seem to have gone over the top on jobs for SEN!

I can remember when Luton offered a Southend experience but that quiet non queuing experience now frustrates the folk here as they want more and more flights. So will there become a time when the people here say enough is enough as the queue times have hit 20 minutes or will it be let's just fill the place to bursting point?

I suspect most will vote for a repeat of the Luton today experience if they were honest as Southend will learn that they also suffer from a lack of acres. Some of the smug faced people here now who are shouting look at us might be horrified with what they end up with while others will just demand more and more passengers and sod the experience.

So the question becomes will Stobart turn away business if they can squeeze in a few more passengers through the front door? No they won't as they will have the same mindset as Luton management.

Your great memory has only happened because of under utilization. Hang onto that memory of Southend as if things go to plan Southend will join the club of queues and frustration.

GRQ 1 x daily xSa
Looking at the Flybe booking system, after 15 April there seem to be only 3 flights per week, on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays.

CGN, PGF, REU.......... no surprise that they haven't endured, I guess. I am surprised about VIE though, I'd have thought that would be a popular city break destination.

It looks to me as though VIE is there, it's VCE that's missing; unless I'm misreading things which is quite possible!

Indeed, Venice has gone and Vienna remains.

Are there gaps in the schedule still for the Embraer? It seems odd that RNS has been released as daily when the winter 17/18 schedule was revised back up to 9/10 weekly. Also there must be two ATRs required if CFR and GRQ are still around.

Yes, it looks like the higher frequency is perhaps for the Easter and May Bank Holiday periods. There could be increases for the summer peak months of course for many of the routes.

There are no real gaps in the Embraer schedules as far as I can see although plenty of ATR slots if two aircraft are to be SEN-based.

Just a small point. I have no idea where the above airports are. Can't people just say the name of the airport rather than 3 letter codes as it would make life so much simpler.

Now that's an interesting response from someone calling himself LTN..man. If you are not sure it's usually easy to work it out or look it up. Especially from a poster who normally can't wait to have a knock at SEN, wherever that is😉

Look deep my friend and find a hostile post about Southend from me. Now look at my posts on the Luton thread as I tell it how I see it with no gloss or favour. Clearly you need to follow me a bit more carefully before making false accusations here.

UK airports I am OK with but some of those small European airports listed I am not. If people don't want to name them properly here to save a few taps of the keyboard then that is fine but I won't be searching the internet for the answers.

No need for nastiness, we're all adults (or should be). I can't see what LTNman has done wrong, it was a fair comment.

CFR = Caen, GRQ = Groningen, PGF = Perpignan, RNS = Rennes, CGN = Cologne/Bonn, REU = Reus. Hopefully everything else is more mainstream

No need for nastiness,
I agree, that is why I commented on your post.

I am sure there will be others that follow this thread but don't comment that will now know what airports are being talked about so I thank you for the answers.
