Yes, it's good news at last that EZY will start flights to Malta. Air Malta in the past operated with full loads and I am sure the same will happen again, although I can imagine Jan/Feb might be a bit quiter. I just wrote to LSA. No mention of Sion or Malta on their website. You would think the person in charge of the web page would have his fingers ready as soon as the news arrived, but no.

I've just got home from a wander round the airport and the RJ100 arrived from Lyon when I was in Long Stay 2. I am pretty sure that it disgorged 49 passengers. Could do better.

Yes Expressflight, I agree with you. After my post I thought I had perhaps been a little harsh. With hindsight I should have gone back in and edited out my "could do better".

Hello , what happens between 6-10am at Southend airport or worded differently is there something i should be aware of such as overcrowded/slow trains to London early in the morning and am i right in saying the road traffic to London would be heavy during this time period?
The Man to Lcy routes were a nice addition but the frequency just wasn't ideal for my typical mission, However there appears to be up to 3 flights a day from Man to Sen with Flybe? Stobart? but the first arrival isn't until 9:30am which 1 hour earlier would've been more attractive for the business orientated traveler.
The thread is too long to read to find the answer to my first question but in the last few pages there's been talk of a 5-10 million passenger figure in the future - If airliners can't get the timings right now at this capacity i don't know how the 5 million target is achievable ( it's just my opinion )
I wasn't aware of the SEN routes until this week i don't remember seeing soo many last year so this a good sign. Now i can only wish for a SEN- Carlisle route.
Thank you

After 09:00 there is a train to Liverpool Street every 20 minutes at 15, 35 and 55 minutes past the hour. It's approximately 55 minutes to Liverpool Street and 46 to Stratford. The roads into London are pretty busy all day long and very busy between 07:00 and 09:00. Hope this info helps you decide to give Southend a go!

Following my email to LSA office, Malta has now been added to the destinations list. However, they not add Sion because bookings must be made directly with Powdair.
Surely this attitude (procedure) will put a nail in the coffin for this new route to even have a fighting chance to succeed? They could at least list it with a telephone number
to Powdair's bookings office.

tophat27dt .... I too e-mailed them and got the same response as you regarding Sion. They didn't even mention Malta in their reply to me. I then went back to them again saying that they should surely show the route as a destination even if they weren't selling tickets. That was yesterday and I've had no further communication from them. I wonder if this is Glyn Jones' policy or whether he is in blissful ignorance of this attitude.

You think that's bad. I have just had to e-mail Flybe. One of the direct flights to DUB and one of the return flights from GLA is missing from their booking page. Has been the case since the connecting flights were added. I'm surprised no-one at Stobart seems to have to time to check these matters.

CGN delay
Yes, the Jota RJ100 has an engine problem and was ground-running at breakfast time. Luckily, I think there is no quick follow up service for it until late afternoon. But regularly the CGN is 2 or 3 hours late.

And now the 17:45 to Milan is showing an expected departure time of 21:30, three and a quarter hours delay. Probably won't be back until well gone one in the morning. Can't blame Jota for this one; it's the E95.

On top of the long Venice delay the Perpignan flight was cancelled tonight, apparently due to "crewing issues". Would these crewing issues be a lack of them by any chance? It always seems to be JOTA. It really can't do the rep of Stobart or Flybe any good.
