Further to the last two postings from stab3.5up and Flightrider:-
I am starting to wonder whether Messrs' French and Rutter ever went away, perhaps operating the new management by remote control. Putting aside the LCY operation (if one can) I really cannot understand the majority of the recent decisions being made. As an example - assuming a highly persuasive offer by MAG to entice the Newquay - Southend summer route to Stansted, I wonder how much thought was given to passenger preference. Those using Newquay have a frequent service to Gatwick already, so why would anyone wish to use a second large slow shopping centre, I mean airport, rather than an ultra quick and more convenient smaller airport? Surely they have deprived the passenger of choice and an attractive alternative.
As someone who was once seriously considering purchasing their shares, I am very pleased I did not. Near miss!

stab3 - no significant stake remains. It is likely that IAG still retains a nominal shareholding, if only to have the right to attend any AGM or EGM if they choose to do so.

NQY-STN x3 weekly
MAN & BHX also daily and currently scheduled on NQY based aircraft which doesn't work and requires a 2nd based dh8, however not enough routes for 2 and too many for 1?

Sorry to jump in here, but I have what seems like a daft question
Just got FlightRadar and I note that Flybe aircraft seem to disappear from the trace about 10 miles out from the destination or appear 10 miles or so after take off.
Does Flybe have SOPs where they turn off a transponder close to an airfield? Or is there another reason?

It's to do with FR24. BE fleet simply do not have ADS-B xpndrs, so FR24 uses a technique called MLAT to plot them. Coverage at lower levels is variable. This link explains it all: How it works - Flightradar24.com - Live flight tracker!

No it`s not just Flybe, but most commuter aircraft , but i`m sure somebody can confirm the ins and outs of it. Probably best to go on either

BA hold no shares whatsoever in Flybe.
Why on earth would they wish to retani a small quantity of shares in order to attend AGMs etc?. The companys have no overlap whatsoever apart from at LCY and if they were interested in Flybes's activities all of the information is public since Flybe is a PLC

Yes Bean, I believe that the balance of the shareholding was sold in June.
They did however, own up to 15% of the stock up to that point. However, BA had written down the value in recent times.

At AGMs, company directors are required to answer open questions from shareholders. These questions can sometimes be very direct and directors may find that they accidentally open their mouth a little more than they would do if they were not placed on the spot. The finer nuances of this dialogue rarely reaches the press and a good PR can often find a way to claim what was said is not important enough to warrant a formal press release via a stock exchange newswire.
Only shareholders have the absolute right to attend an AGM, but a negligible shareholding of perhaps £2,000 would be sufficient to listen to a director potentially and accidentally blurt out what remains commercially confidential.
Not saying IAG do hold shares in Flybe right now, just that it might be worth holding a tiny shareholding to make use of this facility whenever desired.

BA acquired 14.6% of FlyBe following the sale of BA Connect to FlyBe. This shareholding was disposed of in June 14.

Flybe and United will announce a code share agreement and will primarily feed GLA/MAN. I know its sort of old news (think CO had one) but it will be expanded more in 2015.

It due to be same as Aer Lingus. I was only told so don't know if its ticketing or a full code share. All the UK airports (excl LHR) with a UA presence will be included however bigger airports such as MAN/GLA will top of the list as they have good domestic connection times.

Tomorrow's 07:05 BHX-HAJ-BHX appears to have been removed by BE for sale and according to it's online timetable and flight status will not be flown (as in it doesn't exist/show).
Strangely, both BHX and HAJ airports are displaying the flight on their departure boards...??
