Gliderman, I'd love to see a return of Jersey and Isle of Man routes but the question is who would operate them? There seems a real dearth of options. Whilst someone like Blue Islands might be a contender for Jersey it seems doubtful and I can't think of anyone who might be a contender for Isle of Man so much as it would be nice to see these routes return, it seems highly unlikely
Paxing All Over The World
The IOM has to be gone for good. It used to be operated by ATP, 146, Q400. But now that Ezy have three rotations per weekday out of LGW? That amount of capacity has to be filled. Then LCY takes the small amount of Biz pax. There are routes from BHX and MAN and several others, so I cannot see the South East providing more demand.
When my mother retired to the Island, I used the service for well over 20 years and mighty good it was but, I cannot see it coming back.

VLM to Jersey
Regarding the Jersey route, I could see VLM having a go with a weekend Saturday and Sunday service utilising the aircraft which operates to/from Waterford. The aircraft is the right size but it would need the timings of the Waterford service on these days to be altered somewhat. Regarding the Isle of Man, I don´t think so, but as somebody said, never say never.

VLM may be an option, it depends how they view Luton in terms of future growth. I wonder if thinner routes like Antwerp, Rotterdam, regional French routes like Limoges, Nantes etc and perhaps Jersey and Isle of Man could provide a number of route opportunities for a Luton bases F50. A long shot, but you never know........

And whatever the PM or the Home Secretary say, they cannot do anything about it unless of course the British public decide to leave the EU in a referendum but that is not scheduled for a while yet.
I would not be surprised to see Wizz announce a couple of new destinations soon, still plenty of cities not served in central and Eastern Europe.

Yes, two good ones there, but had not thought of those, I was more thinking of Plovdiv, the second largest city in Bulgaria; Wizz do not seem to fly to Estonia for some reason and there is of course the untapped market except for BA of Albania with Tirana as its capital, but there many more including Rijeka, Pula, the list is endless.

I've always wondered why Wizz avoid Estonia. Seems like a perfect market for them?
Albania too must offer potential but the route I think they could do so much more with is PRG. The timing of the departing service is terrible, it would be so much better to have a daytime departure too and surely given the popularity of the city, it must be able to take more route capacity?

Redevelopment weekly update
Infilling to raise the levels of the new bus station has been taking place this week but activity has been rather slow due to a lack of manpower.
With existing foundations in the short term and staff car parks by Taxiway Delta and the South Stands good progress is being made on the exit routes from the drop off area.
As can be seen in the third photo what appears to be fence posts are being placed along the middle of the airside road to the south stands. This is probably temporary so the existing fence can be rebuilt.

A bit more analysis of the CAA monthly figures:
Luton handled 37.3% of passengers between UK and Bulgaria in September,
Hungary 36.2%
Latvia 26.3%
Lithuania 40.1%
Poland 25.1%
Romania 61.9%
Slovakia 38.4%
as well as
Israel 35.4%
The stats seem to exclude the La Compagnie Newark passengers.
