May be partly due to the fact that easy won't be operating the STN routing after April

Landmark Aviation has reached an agreement with the UK’s Border Force to establish a satellite office in the company’s FBO at London Luton Airport to provide onsite customs and immigration clearance. Previously, if there was a problem with paperwork on international flights arriving at the location, passengers and crew would have to be bussed over to the main commercial terminal.

Even the airports latest plans still show both of Landmark's aprons going back to the airport for airline use before the decade is out as part of phase 3.

ACL Summer 2015 Start of Season Report

http://www.acl-uk.org/UserFiles/File...port_v2%20.pdf
The report suggests that LTN is going to be rather busy:
Movements are up by over 15%, seats up by 13% compared to last year. 1.1M additional seats are on sale.

The vast majority of the growth is coming from the top two airlines: Easyjet are up by around 13%, Wizzair by 21%. There's 6% growth from Ryanair, but their operation is now less than half the size of Wizzair's at LTN.

2015

During 2015 Luton anticipates to handle 11.4 million passengers.

I think by December 31st this year the figure will be 11.6 million but only time will tell?

However if the 100 million pound investment in the airport is made during the next three years as planned, it is in the interest of the leaseholder to recoup their investment sooner than later!

I can honestly see a new satellite building with stands being built to accommodate extra a/c stands. Only time will tell?

Luton is going up, up and beyond...

Many thanks for the link , some interesting figures.
Am curious about Atlasjet as it is indicating a doubling of passengers this summer and double the flights at peak.
There has been no announcement of a twice daily Istanbul or is there another route still to be announced-leaving it a bit late if so!!

Interesting stats. I too am studious about Atlasjet as seems to indicate two flights per day. Also, I thought Air Nostrum was more than twice weekly which report seems to suggest. Also what's the weekly Vueing flight?

Page 5 of the report lists Atlasjet as starting a new Sabhia Gocken route (not that it's on sale)

Signature have just submitted a planning application for the discharge of condition 5 of their planning permission for a new FBO. Work can't commence until such time a scheme to limit excess surface water or provide evidence that existing drainage can cope with a 100 year storm. This condition was set on August 31st 2012 so not sure why it has taken 2 and a half years to act on this requirement. Work is set to begin in the next month or two for the removal of the first of its two hangars.

The airport has also applied for the discharge of conditions 23 (foul water)regarding its planning permission for the upgrade of the airport. Again work can't start until this has been resolved.

airhumberside - the biannual ACL report last autumn gave a very strong hint about Flybe opening routes at London City - Flybe were denying anything was planned for London City at the time. A little later Flybe announced plans for a base at London City...

Fascinating document.

S14 showed 159 ad-hoc charters, so far S15 shows 43. No doubt more will emerge for sporting events, diversions, etc.

The lack of English teams left in the UEFA and Europa Cups are not going to help add to these figures...

However the Rugby World Cup might boost some figures in September. Especially as Stadium:MK and Wembley are host venues and quite close by.

Im sure the airport will also be vying for some of the traffic for matches during the contest taking place at Twickenham and the Olympic Stadium too.
