What do you expect, nothing ever happens in November/December. It always has been a dead time of year!

Come on runway 08 always slack in November and early December - you should have been around in the late 1960s that WAS slack. A bit anorakish I know but you had a Jersey E190 to and from Exeter with the Saracens rugby team, a French Post B737 on a weekend visit f/t Perpignan and the Titan A320 probably making its first visit today on a charter to Munich - so there!

Grrr

I was told and I don't know how true, there were 16 different Wizz airframes on the ground at the same time one day last week!

Wow, if true that's amazing. Wizz certainly have become a vital component in Luton's success & long may it continue.

On a separate note, I seem to recall a while back there was talk of Air Blue possibly starting flights from Luton, alongside their Manchester & Birmingham flights. Does anyone know if this is still a possibility?

Air blue are short of aircraft so no new route for the minute

I could also see Czech airlines starting flights at Luton

Falcon666 is right i as much as most LTN RYR flight numbers start with "3", but not all - NOC and KIR both start with "8" and BTS with "2". I can't remember the VNO, but I think the KUN was a "2" as well, and there may be other exceptions. So, PMO is not impossible. It isn't being operated by LTN based crew, though.

Air Blue

That's a shame. I thought they were a good fit for Luton

As quoted to the FT in the link in my previous post

"Pakistan carrier Air Blue will launch flights to Lahore next year, and detailed talks are under way with several airlines, with one close to adding another destination, marking the return of long-haul routes after some years"

lol I know winter is slow news month, Just a bit bored, no big deal. Thanks for the list compton, I suppose the random charters keep the spotter dudes happy so thats cool. I wasn't even aware Titan had an Airbus..Very New acquisition?

Sucks about Air Blue if its confirmed, Surely Luton of all places in England can sustain a flight to Pakistan.

Just out of curiosity how long does a route take to approve (Specifically the Guernsey one) Do these things take months and months or a matter of weeks to get the "ok".

Boeing738 why do you think csa would come to LTN? Any particular reason.. or is it wishful thinking like the Pegasus one before.

cheers

It would be nice to see a service to Prague with a decent departure time unlike the current Wizz service.

Runway 08, I agree. Pakistan seems a great idea from LTN. Maybe Pakistan Airlines could be tempted to do the same as El-Al with a duel LHR/LTN operation if Air Blue go elsewhere?

I too was wondering about Flybe's GCI application. Why the delay or is this timescale normal?

Czech airlines would come via the travelservice or smartwings brand but they are looking more towards East than west, can't see it happening anytime soon.

There may not be much commercial aviation news around at present, but I've seen a list of over 115 business jets on the ground at Luton during yesterday.

While there is a codeshare deal for connecting flights via Prague, Czech Airlines and Travelservice/Smartwings are two separate companies. As far as local traffic is concerned they are competitors

Exactly my point, TravelService/Smartwings, apart from Dublin go south, is it time they stood up?
