Boeing737-8
FCO issued Friday.
An update today says the UK government “no longer advise against all but essential travel to the whole of Egypt”.
A spokesman said: “We still advise against all but essential travel to Cairo Governorate and the Governorates of Bani Suef, Minya, Asyut and Sohag, which continue to witness disruption.
“We have also maintained our advice against all travel to North Sinai and advise against all but essential travel to South Sinai (except for the Red Sea resorts and specified exemptions set out in our travel advice).

Bucharest 3 daily from July! BLIMEY!
If I emailed a 'bot' in Turkey, it would probably welcome me to Pegasus.
I think MAG need Wizz, not AENA need Pegasus!
Birmingham now making a challenge to Manchester with the new Biman NYC service next year.
MAG have to service that HUGE debt!

FlyBE
After FlyBE's announcement today of cutting 500 jobs and the size of the airline, I think we can also put to bed any major expansion from Luton or other London airports...
Even though they have announced Guernesy, this is only operating 4-5 times a week and just filling a gap as no other operator like easyJet has jumped in to fill the gap or having to compete against. The timetable is already released for Summer 2014 and there is no increase for the IOM or Jersey to fill the loss of Gatwick.
As FlyBE bases no aircraft at Luton, Newquay or Waterford, I highly doubt there will any new routes between any of these airports. I doubt Belfast City Airport is going to happen either, with it competing against easyJet to Belfast International.
I also get the impression daytime flights to Belfast don't work well from Luton, with easyJet only operating an early morning flight and two evening flights. While Stansted and Gatwick support daytime flights as well... There was a time Luton to Belfast was down to twice daily flights.

BE are going to focus on their core strength regional connectivity, that's what I take from the presentation. I would suggest they will where possible try to avoid getting into markets penetrated by of likely to bd by LOCO's. Hence, apart from GCI , I can't much LTN expansion. Maybe WAT.
London routes in the main too attractive to LOCO's, ezy on IOM says it all. Thinnest of routes of interest ex London for Loco's, hence I'd say BE will steer clear...

Don't get the relevance to Luton thread ?
A lot of new flights up north, kept hold of Pegasus down south, so, in reality, not a lot for them to worry about at this time.

I see a report just been issued that the same allocation of night time flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted is to stay the same until 2017. Also a number of ´´noisy´´ aircraft will not be allowed to depart after 2300 hrs.
As both DHL and El Al came the near the top of the ´´noisy´´ table can we expect more movements from both airlines at Luton?

I never said MAG were having a hard time, more that the debt interest payments on the purchase of Stansted must be serviced. Adding Wizz would certainly help!
Birmingham are gradually mounting a challenge to Manchester.

A quote from P33 - Feasibility Considerations:
“If for any reason Heathrow cannot be expanded, the
next best location is near to the current Luton airport.
This airport is on the right side of London for the rest of
the country, and can easily be linked with high quality
connections to London, the M1, the West Coast Mainline
and the East Coast Mainline. There are disadvantages:
the site is relatively hilly, and Stansted would have to close. In
addition, business individuals that have located near Heathrow
for access to the airport would need to relocate. For those
reasons Luton is second best, but deserves to be considered."
Oops - that seems sure to ruffle a few feathers!
