Pictures paint a thousand words. Last night as predicted much of the main concourse was closed with Burger King losing most of its seating area. This will allow the removal of the wall from what was arrivals that will eventually become the security area. Eventually the security area will be extended after Burger King is shut down and removed.

I am hearing a date of August 28th for security to move downstairs to its partial new home but that is unconfirmed.

This temporary fence will eventually separate arriving passengers from the bus station when it becomes a building site.

I've a feeling that's an all-time monthly record, and it's only June. Last August was 1,177,552.

I hear the council closed the new upgraded link road from the M1 to the airport today for a couple of hours so they could officially open it. Hope no one missed their flights.

Iasi is close to the border with Moldavia. I understand Moldavians have automatic rights to Romanian (=EU) citizenship, hence can travel here freely.
So there is likely to be greater demand for this route than just servicing a remote Romanian city with a population of 300,000.

That makes perfect sense, however with 6 weekly flights spread across three airlines offering on average 860 seats per week how long will this continue !

Tuesday & Saturday - Tarom
Wednesday & Sunday - Blue Air & WizzAir

Good luck to them all
