Clearly do! I have just specificed that the 737-800 took the direct route. Re-read my post!
MR@Spotty made the mistake, saying the 738 has no ETOPs, clearly meaning the 737-800 MAX.

It was never said that the 737-800 has ETOPS 60, (which isn't the official term anyway, although it is used).

I did not make a mistake, l know what l am talking about, l have had dealings with the B737 for 45 years.
I stated that the B737-8 which is the B737 Max does not have EDTO (ETOPS) type approval.
The B737-800 does have EDTO type approval and Norwegian have approval from EASA to operate it as such.
AerRyan, thank you for coming to my defence.

This was confirmed at Paris. Presumably just a matter of time until manufacturer and airline certification follows?

It is the B38M.

The aircraft designations are on the back of the Norwegian aircraft as per the tweet below where it's actually called the 737 MAX 8 and the adjacent NG is 737-800.

It's all Boeing's fault for making it so confusing

You are correct in that the ICAO type designator for the Max is B38M, however you typically see that used within travel booking engines.
That is not what is listed on the aircraft type certificate, which for the B737-800 is 737-800 series and the max is 737-8.

Last night 1 Norwegian cancelled to Dublin and an Edinburgh and Bergen flight stopping off at Shannon on the way ... things look a tad operationally challenging for the airlines new routes TA on 737?

NG -V-MAX
EI-BUD
In a nutshell what we are seeing is the 'old' aircraft 'NG' with 180 min ETOPS verse the 'new' aircraft 'MAX' without ETOPS
The plan was the MAX with ETOPS but that is unlikely before the late Autumn
So in broad terms the max can do the same city pairs without ETOPS that the NG can do with ETOPS, so with unfavourable HWC both may have to stop en route for fuel. West bound loads seem to be capped at around 150 which is normal practice for Norwegian on its very long flights (TOS-LPA & DBX-OSL)
Norwegian have 4 MAX's delivered with two in revenue service and the other two due in service in the next few days.

Just noticed that one part of the Norwegian empire ( NAX ) has Privilege Style's B752 EC-HDS on lease since the start of July, operating out of Stockholm. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/echds

Last night's MAX service from Stewart to EDI was cancelled. ?tech. The West bound service operated.
Last nights flight to DUB was also delayed over 4 hours like BFS as well.

If the 2x inbound today are full; 378 x €600 for delay compensation coupled with giveaway fares is not going to be nice on the balance sheet (approx -€226,000?)

I think lots warned this could turn into a shambles, too many routes from too many airports at once with brand new untested aircraft....
Im surprised theres not more publicity about this ... if it had been BA!!!
I think id be getting twitchy now if I had any bookings on these routes... Perhaps big bad legacy not as bad as first thought.

Indeed. Big bad inefficient, total rip off Legacy!
And, unless I've been sleeping in, I've yet to hear of Norwegian violently trailing any fare paying passengers off the aircraft in order to enable one of their own crew to fly in their seat!!

So as to get a crew to another aircraft full of stranded pax. Remove 1 person from 1 aircraft so as to get a few hundred others to their destination
