Anyone know when the first A320neo is due for Norwegian? Wiki says the first should be in service this year.

Las Vegas is just too hot for Norwegian Air Shuttle.

Anytime the mercury hits 104 degrees or hotter, the discount carrier is often forced to ground planes filled with nearly 300 passengers headed out of McCarran International Airport, an airline official said Monday.

The mid-day flights were often delayed for several hours until temperatures cooled. The difficulties eroded profits for the discount carrier.

As a result, Norwegian will suspend flights from Las Vegas to four European cities in late March, resuming with “seasonal service” in November 2017.

Bad slot planning or just poor loads ?

The have been significant delays at LAS the last couple of years during the summer due to the heat - 40C at midnight for example, BA had delays of several days.

Wouldn't a tech stop en-route be cheaper than the knock on delays due to the high temperature?

A320 Neo

First A320neo is due to be leased to Hong Kong Express, CN 7209.

I think only the A321neo are actually entering service with Norwegian? The other A320neos are being leased out

DUS & HAJ will be new destinations in the network with several flights to Spain. In long-term those cities could become a Norwegian base.

Just checked out prices for a short trip for two from London to Seattle in September, £999 for Norwegian LowFare+ or £3331 for British Airways Economy.

Even choosing Norwegians PremiumFlex would be nearly £900 cheaper than BA Economy.

That seems very high for BA. You could almost get CW for that price.
You just need to wait for the BA sale, or perhaps you have very restricted dates and no saturday overnight, in that case you would have to stick with the low cost option...

What are your dates? £3k+ is ridiculous.

I just picked a couple of random dates and BA is only £3K plus if you don't stay a Saturday night.

I'm getting around £1300.00 for two with BA, and £1100.00 for two with VS.

And the last few posts show clearly why the new runway should not have gone to Heathrow. Keep as much long haul at Lhr as possible, try and not let new entrants compete and we can keep our fares sky high. Suits the establishment well.
