The same goes for Guernsey (although BAW & EZY don't operate there). I could envisage up to 4 flights a day to LHR , with an appropriate reduction in LGW services. Although, I don't think BAW or EZY would have much interest in Guernsey without a R/W extension.
Not quite sure where E190/5 comes into it. I was referring to LHR-Guernsey ops & reflecting that BAW would, apparently, not have much enthusiasm for A319s. As for EZY, they examined Guernsey some time ago & decided not to apply for Gatwick flights. True, AUR does operate the 195 into Guernsey but it is interesting to note that, when they first started they used a leased BEE 195 - even though BEE wouldn't take the a/c into Guernsey on their own services at the time because of the R/W. Although, I believe they did operate it occasionally some time later.

Why are BA sending their 789's to MAN for parking?

Yes, on the Thursday that Thanksgiving falls on, Heathrow will typically have an additional 20 or so nightstoppers compared to the other Thursdays in November, and they all have to be parked somewhere.

Gatwick:
Gatwick / BA have said that all BA flights will be using the South terminal by 25th January but some flights will be moving before that date:
BA2776 Gatwick to Jersey 23 November 2016 only
BA2273 To JFK (departs 17:05) From 11 January 2017 onwards
BA2272 11 Jan departure from JFK (arrives LGW 10:00 +1) and then arrivals from 12 January 2017 onwards
BA2612 Gatwick to Naples (departs 14:30) From 19 January 2017 onwards
BA2613 Naples to Gatwick (arrives 20:50) From 19 January 2017 onwards

BA dropped Chengdu earlier this autumn. On the other hand, Ethiopian are starting Chengdu 3x weekly.
I know Ethiopian are a major network carrier in Africa, but I'm still wondering why Ethiopian think they can make Chengdu work for connections to many countries with low incomes, but BA struggle to link Chengdu to a wealthy country. And yes I know about the pseudo-colonisation of Africa by China.

South Terminal at Gatwick is much better located, for direct access to the train station and other facilities. The "Transit" to the peripheral North Terminal is one of those transport systems which can be quoted as having a 2 minute running time but which always seems to end up adding about a quarter of an hour each way to the process with all the extra walking and waiting. Half the times I have used it one of the two trains appears shut down, presumably to save the airport operator money.

over the years Ethiopian have made a very nice living connecting to various parts of Africa and the Middle East that are hard to get to - prices to African destinations tend to be a lot higher than say trans-Atlantic of Europe - ME flights.
I also guess they can offer a much shorter route China-Abbas- Africa cp going via LHR
