Vueling has removed from schedule all its flights from/to LHR (LHR-LCG, LHR-BIO & LHR-FLR routes) for next Summer Season 2014 (although they were put for sale a few weeks ago). Some rumours about BA will take over these routes. Does anyone know anything about this?

British Airways' LHR-ALC route also seems to be cancelled from next 29MAR 2014

Maybe IAG is preparing something new for SS14...

Or could Vueling be moving the operation over to LGW in exchange for some more slots for BA at LHR?

I was a bit surprised to see Mykonos, Porto & Thira being added to the LHR schedule. These all seem well suited to LGW but LHR? Seems a strange set of route choices when slots are seemingly in such shirt supply.

Vueling to LGW seems a good move if true.

Its just taking advantage of lot weekend slots for some of the routes and for Mykonos and Santorini converting some existing regular weekend charters

787 YYZ

Just home after lengthy delay YYZ. 787 finally declared safe to operate BA 96 after 6 hours of consultation between Boeing and BA engineers. Uneventful flight home. Kudos to captain and crew for successfully keeping us slf in thé loop throughout.

will post impressions of dreamliner when I get time

On British Airways 'Manage Booking' and it says about reserving or selecting a seat for the flight... It shows the layout of the plane and the seats I can select and it's showing 50 rows to the back in Economy, which when I Look at the aircraft plans - it appears to be 777-300 woohoo!! Now I'm excited about this, I just want to know if these layouts are accurate or whether it just a guide?

Cheers

Do any insiders have news on Tokyo services for next summer? I understand that BA were awarded slots at HND but the online timetable shows few changes over this summer.

So you're asking whether the seat plan shows the seat configuration on the aircraft type in question? What would be the purpose of "just a guide" if it did not correspond to reality? It may not be utterly precise and to scale in the sense of being able to calculate your legroom by counting the pixels between rows in the seat-plan graphic . Most seat-selection seat plans do not accurately depict window positions relative to seat rows. But the seat plan should certainly be entirely accurate in terms of seat row numbers, numbers of seats in each row, location of monuments etc.

It will be the seat plan for the aircraft they anticipate operating the route as of today, there is always the possibility of a late change.

I just wanted to know if the seat plan/number of rows is accurate on the plan...
If this is the same seat plan they take money from people in choosing your seats then yes, it is accurate as you might expect when buying a seat.

Hi,

Travelling on BA 177 LHR-JFK next February and looked at the seating plan to see what plane we are on and it is 50 rows which a 77W isn't it?

I thought the only flight to JFK on a 77W was BA179? Anyone know if 177 is a 77W or is this an error on the seating plan?

Thanks
