Is Flybe DUS frequency increasing because Germanwings plan to reduce frequency (at least that was rumoured some months ago I believe)?

And will they all be EMBs, or are they planning to use the DHC8s too?

BHX-DUS

According to LH website EW operate DUS-BHX 3x daily (less at weekend) as it is now with CR9 equipment being used throughout winter 2015/6.
Flybe services looking at timings appear to be operated by ER7 on some flights some on the DH4. The flight that overnights in DUS appears to be operated by a DH4 as it is now. You can check individual flights by filling in dummy booking and looking at the seat plan.

Cheers Daza. Sorry, I was just being a lazy sod on the basis that you regular BHX guys tend to know this stuff up front.

Flybe winter 2015/6

I make it around 50 flights each weekday which is around 4 -5 flights a day less than last winter.

As Daza mentioned the first and last Amsterdam is the 195 and it goes to Milan in between. Milan did start last winter as double daily Monday, Wednesday and Friday before changing to daily.

Hanover seems to get the 10 extra seats each flight than now with the 175 operating but last winter again it operated double daily at times.

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Amsterdam and Dusseldorf are way up on last November although by February 2015 Edinburgh started to see between 8 and 11 daily services at times.

Interesting to see them increase Dusseldorf which Eurowings are likely to change at some point as 17 CRJ9's are transferring to Cityline to replace the 195's which are off to Austrian. This should mean 319's or 320's for BHX & MAN but I can't believe they will maintain three daily.

KLM like last winter are reducing to four daily but all mainline until New Year.

Aer Lingus

Still no 6th daily Dublin showing but must be tied in with the Shannon flight as still no aircraft to operate it in winter unless they re-time the Cork. I assume it will be Stobart and operating DUB-BHX-SNN-BHX-DUB or Cork re-timed.

I'd imagine that they will do it from Cork again for the winter. They cut 3 rotations on other services from ORK for the summer and there was a bit of hype about that. I doubt they will reinstate that capacity for the winter

Flybe 2015/6

jon01

Not sure what device you are using but I have an iphone, Kindle Fire and stand-alone and winter 2015/6 is showing 8 Glasgow and Edinburgh flights.

The latter 06.50, 08.40, 11.05, 12.25, 14.35, 16.45, 18.30 & 21.00. Monday - Friday.

Seven a day showing this summer.

AerRyan

Quite possible but if so why did it not change when Shannon first went on sale?

I believe the original plan for winter has changed after somebody did the number crunching at Cork so it's anyone's guess where it will be operated from.

Should know what will happen very soon though.

April route analysis - schedule International

Passenger figure Source:CAA (actual)
Average per flight: Own records, Libhomeradar, BHX Bl*g
Load Factor: Estimated based on airline websites and seat-map sites

Around 20000 pax lost on routes which operated in April 2014 but didn't at all in April 15, which is quite significant.

Other than that some new April routes had modest starts such as Athens and Reykjavik but the core business routes were quite good.

Never seen Brussels with such a high load factor although they have reduced from five to four daily.

Paris suffered from cancellations of which I had first hand experience which was the reason it was down but the load factor was more one associated with a loco route.

Ryanair routes as high as ever but medium/long-haul was modest. PIA well down due to the fewer frequencies, Turkish was reasonable for the increased frequency and Emirates slightly down. Air India of course was daily in 2015 compared to 2014 and wasn't too bad although April is usually a strong month.

Yes, but on the first 4 rotations (2 in, 2 out) after no service for a few months, with a new, and largely unknown airline.

I think we'll have to wait until June's figures to get an idea of how the route is really performing.

April Domestic Route analysis

Passenger figure Source:CAA (actual)
Average per flight: Own records, Libhomeradar, BHX Bl*g
Load Factor: Estimated based on airline websites and seat-map sites.

With the Flybe flight status check I was able to take into account cancellations. BHD, EDI and GLA did see slightly more flights this April so perhaps they might have been higher. Inverness was like for like and is encouraging and Newquay not too bad for April although fares were generally very light. easyjet dropped the Saturday service this summer and it hardly affected the figures.
