s it the Swiss lads that just announced a Cambridge base that are looking at the LTN Ireland route?
I heard rumours a while ago it was Minonian Airlines that had recently started ops out of Oxford.

Not heard anything in the last month or so of any new rumours.

Grrr

I cannot believe an airline has not taken over Galway and Waterford. Was a 'ready made' market and the yields were once excellent, just like Kerry for Ryanair.

Not Minoan..

Yeah it's strange, must be some other factor which has prevented a airline starting up in WAT/GWY. I though loganair would go to GWY.. Would probably be better loads than CFN-GLA, I know the only reason they are in Donegal though is for the pso to dublin.

Lack of European Carriers with available prop aircraft for the routes perhaps? No idea. While Darwin was mentioned to me twice and the airline is apparently foreign. I cant help of think of someone like Avanti or Swiftair.. They seem to enjoy operating flights out of countries that they are based nowhere near. All be it for other airlines.

It will be interesting to see who it ends up being. I think they cant really lose on this route.

I honestly think that it may be Darwin that is rumoured.. Not even sure to be honest.

Would Darwin really base an aircraft in WAT or LTN for just one route? Or would it be possible they launch WAT from Cambridge, perhaps an odd one but its not a million miles from the LTN or STN catchments. WAT has been operated from STN in previous years.

First there was London Oxford... now we are discussing London Cambridge...
Didn't know there was a particularly large Irish community in Cambridgeshire but I'm happy to be told I'm wrong.
Fond memories of OLT Express flying Southend-Dresden are coming to mind right now

I don't expect it to be any of the above carriers mentioned.

Hey Mart I think I read they will not be British.

Does anyone know if the ELAL on Friday is a 777.. I fancy a photo of one of those heavies in Luton.

PPHE Hotel Group Limited Acquisition of London Luton Airport Site - WSJ.com

As mentioned here a few months ago another hotel is being built at the airport on a slither of land opposite the Ibis. The lease of the land is costing £120,000 a year.

Wizz now appear to have new flights from Luton to Donetsk & Kosice listed in their booking engine, although actual booking is not possible yet.

Kosice is up now. 4x per week operated by a Sofia based aircraft.

Donetsk seems to be getting a few more new routes, with Memmingen, Milan-Bergamo and Rome-Fiumicino also showing making there possibly six routes from Donetsk with existing routes to Dortmund and Kutaisi.

Both Donetsk and Kosice operate into LTN in the afternoon, so no increase in the early morning rush is involved.

The airport fire service swung into action in the drop off zone when a car caught fire.
