TOM did Orlando and Cancun as well. From what I gathered, the flights did well, however the First Choice merger put an end to it as they had flights from EMA, so the DSA flights moved to NCL (IIRC, we're going back about 7 years!). They still do the odd cruise charter which you can book onto as a regular passenger if there are seats spare. Fly Globespan also flirted with Hamilton before they went under (always a strange choice I feel!).

Donnyman, i'd like to believe you, but you cannot back up your claims, so will believe it when (if) I see it
Maybe Monarch ?
They have released BHX, LTN, MAN & LGW but not EMA or LBA !

Unconfirmed reports that the Links Air plane crash landed at the airport returning from Belfast.
It is on it's side on the runway according to another forum.

Statement on Robin Hood Airport Website
At approximatley19:30pm today Friday 15 August, there was an incident involving a LinksAir flight at Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
The aircraft was returning from Belfast City Airport and suffered a problem with the undercarriage during landing.
The aircraft remains adjacent to the runway and cannot be moved until aircraft investigators arrive on site. As a consequence the Airport is currently closed and is not expected to reopen this evening.

Yes no injuries apparently. (only one passenger on board) Although if I was a betting man, I wouldn't expect Links to be operating from DSA much longer. Very bad press for them.

Timmy, the first thing which comes to my mind (and probably 99.9% others) is the fact that no lives have been lost - not whether Links will or will not be around following this incident.

Indeed.
Will have cost the airport plenty of money. Like I said, Links being newcomers to DSA, and obviously operating a tight ship financially, its hard to see how their services will survive this incident, especially considering their other aircrafts are used elsewhere.

1/cover the programme with other fleet aircrafts adjust whole fleet schedule to make work.
2/ad hoc charter aircrafts for selected flights option #1 doesn't work for
3/wet lease another aircrafts Wet lease in simple terms for Timmy to understand means the car/drivers/petrol/MOT & Service are included
4/dry lease an aircrafts this means the cars V5 is changed to reflect the new registered keeper and they look after it. The ownership of the car doesn't change
5/ buy a new aircrafts
Anyone who actually knows a bit about aviation can work the above out, and any reasonable sauce would have told you the above. So no, I doubt this is the end of this service or Links Air at all.
SFCC, I feel your pain mate, I really do ...

We will see won't we.
The fact there was only one passenger on board tells you all you need to know about demand for this route.
Lets see if their services operate tomorrow and onwards as planned. I'll wager with someone that they won't.

I think the points Timmy was making:-
(1) pax confidence is usually affected by aircraft incidents (regardless of who or what is to blame for the cause) and
(2) secondly for any route to be carrying only 1 pax on Friday night (normally the busiest day) is not good.
