I see we have got connections to parts of the uk once again, belfast and Isle of Man with "links air"
I never thought they did scheduled flights, did I miss something in the press?

Don't wish to be a kill-joy, but how are they going to make money with a J31 for which the operating costs must be astronomical?
To make money the fares and going to have to be much higher than could be bought from either EMA or LBA to Belfast, and the journey by road from Sheffield to EMA isn't too bad - except in the height of the rush hour.
To be fair however, the outbound timings from Doncaster to seem to be reasonably good from the business traveler, less so in the other direction, but without a more frequent service that will always be the compromise.
It seems as though LinksAir are looking the be another Eastern Airways - is there room for them in the market? Time alone will tell.

Good news that Wizz are adding routes.
Really don't think the Linksair routes will even begin, as you still cannot book through their site as they are saying they cannot take website payments, and apparently its impossible to get through on the phone.

Links Air
TimmyW - I agree it's odd that LinksAir cannot take payment on the web for bookings. Having said that, I've phoned them a few times using the number on their website during office hours and always had the phone answered in a reasonable period of time, certainly less than a minute.
I spoke at length a couple of times with someone on the reservations phone number - their explanation was that their website used one protocol for handling credit cards, while the card processing company used a different protocol. When I gave them a credit card (not a debit card !) by phone, they managed to handle the ticketing OK.
For now, I'm inclined to give Links Air the benefit of the doubt for a non-critical flight. The price of a one-way flight is not that large. If the plane don't fly, my credit card issuer will want to do a chargeback. If they cancel too many flights, the CAA will be onto them eventually. They're a small company based at an airport which badly needs a new carrier - sometimes one needs to be a little more forgiving of the small guy when compared to a large corporate.

Wizz Air's New Doncaster to Riga route will be helped by the fact that Ryanair will be dropping its 2x weekly Leeds to Riga route next week with the start of the summer schedule.

What makes you so sure?
Their contract runs out next year, they have steadily been reducing their routes at DSA, and as previously stated they were treated poorly at Durham.

Timmy enough already, wait and see. Businesses have all sorts of different relationships at group levels, if Thomson can still make money, I suspect they'll stay.
