Leased ER4 replaced with a leased E70 (OE-LMK) on the LDY route. Does anyone know what the loads have been like on the LDY-STN route?

Loads have been high, with quite a few full flights. Hardly surprising when you consider FR used to fill 2x737-8s on the route at peak times.

The only truly surprising thing is that it turned into a PSA route, which to me suggests market failure!

Another week and another lease for the STN-LDY route with a ATR42 (F-GVZJ) replacing the E170. Does anyone know how long BM are planning to have to lease aircraft for to cover this route?.

Fleet or crewing issues it seems. Have seen Blue Islands ATR operating a few BM flights from BRS recently.

bmir used a Maleth-Aero B 737-300 on BRS-CDG-BRS last Friday and a week or two ago a Cello Bae 146-200 was used on a BRS rotation.

I hope BM are careful with their fleet and crewing.

Their flights must be dominated by business travellers able to justify the relatively high fares for the point-to-point routes, and people connecting into long-haul at FRA/MUC. Letting those people down seems to be disproportionately risky for their reputation and repeat bookings.

I've had a couple of business contacts flying into meet me in BRS have their flights disrupted (sometimes due to WX, so that's just one of those things), and it makes them wary of rebooking.

It appears that only one aircraft didn't operate yesterday.

The aircraft in question is G-RJXB last flew on 17th May from BRU-BRS. Is this aircraft out of service due tech. Or due scheduled C-check?.

If that is the case then I guess that these leases are less to do with crew shortage and more to do with not having enough aircraft to cover the operation when one is out of use.

I believe XB is on C Check.

What are your figures supposed to represent Xavi22? It's not clear.

I think that's referring to average passengers per flight on those routes. Those numbers reflect my experiences.

Most flights are at about 50% load factor. BRS-FRA is low because it's 34 flights a week, with nearly all pax connecting into LH. This is the one I'd worry about, because I expect LH don't pay BM much for the connection.

The others probably stand up commercially when you look at the fares. I'm doing BRS-HAM r/t next week and it's costing £420. A colleague did FRA-BRS r/t in a day and it cost €625. Those kind of fares, even at 50% LF, probably sustain the routes.

(The BRE-TLS has to be primarily Airbus at corp rates, so I suspect MUC-BGY is the real worry, as that's also an LH feeder).

bmi regional route churn slowing down but adding new routes from Birmingham

The above link relates to an article published in February about bmi regional on a well-known aviation analyst's website.

It confirms that in the years 2012-2016 the airline's annual load factors were in the range 53.7% to 54.6% except for 2013 when it dropped to 49.1%. June and July enjoy the highest loads.

As B_T points out, fares are usually high.

SOU-MUC averaged 24 pax per flight, so based on the above info you would hope that is a sign it is performing reasonably well! Works out as 48% load on an E145, but some flights are usually on the E135, so the actual loads will be a little higher.

Be good to see them try SOU-FRA as well.

Correct, average PAX per flight on those routes in March.
Just worried about the load factor on Munich - Milano-Bergamo.

MUC-BGY has been tried over and over again and it has always resulted in a disaster for the airline willing to give it a go.

Why you'd need 2 x BGY-MUC alongside 6 x MXP-MUC is a mystery. There must be a reason for LH to be supporting that route.

I still feel that BRS-ZRH would be viable - both point to point and as a codeshare into LXs network.
