Interesting. Wonder if this will mean another route into STN to position an aircraft in for this route.

The EMB 190's departing BE are leased so they will be returning to their lessors, they may end up anywhere but BE wont be involved plus it's a bit of a jump from a EMB 145 to a EMB 190 I should imagine EMB 170 would be the most logical step forward for BD.

I think the smart money would be on the superjets. Much cheaper to get hold of.

Wouldn't they look to do a joint Loganair/bmi procurement in order to get a better deal?

The schedule suggests a LDY based aircraft, given that the first LDY departure is 06:20 and it arrives back 20:45 after 2 round trips.

The aircraft is on the ground at LDY between double daily flights from 10:20-17:35 so if there any more routes they'll be from LDY and not STN; maybe to BHX or another BMI base for crew sourcing.

According to the CH Aviation site, the headline says BMI Regional is to lease in Superjets. Unfortunately the article is behind the paywall. Does anyone know more?
Looks like it is just one aircraft (EI-FWA)on lease to BM which started today it is operating all flights from BRS to CDG and one round trip on a Sunday from BRS to ABZ. Does anyone know if the lease is to cover aircraft requiring engineering?.

Testing the water for fleet replacement/bigger aircraft maybe? They've used WX and T3 recently to sub in for tech ac or crew issues but only one-off. Not for this amount of time.

BMI have advised that if the morning and evening rotations are successful they may introduce an afternoon service to STN also.

4 inbound flights to BRS last night diverted to EXT, and the aircraft still appear to be on the ground there. The morning flights this morning from BRS-BRU/FRA/DUS/CDG didn't fly.

Any ideas what's going on there?

Bristol fog strikes again. Unusual at that time of night, but I can see the aircraft held for a while before diverting to EXT.

Thanks - appreciate the info.

I can't find those in G-INFO. Who's operating them currently?

Does bmi think about new routes when they get their new planes or just as a back-up?
