Does lack of web check-in really deter customers, or just irritate them a bit?

When almost other major airline offers online check in, it is a serious negative for bmi regional not ot be able to offer it currently.

I know personally of 3 people who have flown bmi regional previously, but not being able to check in online, get seats online and save that 5 minutes has meant they have moved to other airlines.

Considering the main customer base is business traffic bmi regional should be focusing more on providing the services business customers want, including online check in.

Alot of business traffic go hand luggage only, I know i do. Therefore walking straight to the gate and wasting no time is an important benefit. It used to be a key selling point for bmi regional.

I can't imagine not having online check in would be the reason someone wouldn't fly BMIr. No, the main reason would be price of the ticket!

Does it really matter that much for the bmi regional-style operation? There are only very few routes on which they have direct competition (not surprising as this is their business model), so the choice usually is to book a one-stop connecting flight with online check-in on the competition or a nonstop flight with airport check-in on bmi regional. Which should always play out in favour of BD.

bmi regional

i would of thought checking in for a 50 seat flight with 30 minute minimum checkin is easy enough.

I can't comment on how they have developed their site in the last six months but when I went LBA to BRU I remember thinking--this is like the old days. Things like 'Manage Your Booking' have a comfort element, you look, it's there, when you turn up at 6am there won't be a problem. I think it's just something punters have learned to expect these days.

BM dropping EDI-ZRH for W13?

Does anyone know if BM are dropping there EDI to ZRH service during W13/14?. Just tried to book a flight in November and there are no flights at all available from November to March.

BM operated the route 3 x weekly during W12

Right I was looking at booking flight from Norwich - Aberdeen with bmi regional, went on the lowest fare part on the website, all flights showing around 60 pound scroll down and the Norwich - Aberdeen is 146 pounds, double than nearly all other routes, are the loads that good on the route they can charge that much, because considering eastern are on there as well, I was shocked

£146 to get out of Norwich? Money well spent...

But seriously, is it a shockingly large amount to get from Norwich to Aberdeen? Try doing it by car, bus or train.

Looking at Eastern Airways prices they want £147.10 EACH WAY so looks like the BMI Regional option is still the cheapest. If you was to drive it would take over 9 hours and cost nearly £100 in fuel. Not sure the cost of buses or trains.

Flying is the best option to be honest, just a shame the prices aren't more similar to the rest of the network

20 years ago I regularly flew LON-EDI/GLA. Fares were always at least £200 rtn (BA, BMA, Air UK), so £146 seems a reasonable figure for a thinner route in a smaller aircraft.

BM will begin to operate flights from Kristianstad (KID) and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) from 12th August 2013 on behalf of the swedish carrier Flyglinjen using a ER4. Minoan Air had up until the 20th June been operating the route on behalf of Flyglinjen using a F50.

Flyglinjen to start ERJ145 flights from Kristianstad to Arlanda - ch-aviation.ch

Flights will operate 3 x daily Monday to Thursday with a double daily frequency on a Friday and a single round trip on a Sunday.

Apologies for thread drift, but thetrainline make me mad. Their marketing claim that booking in advance is cheaper than on the day is true, but you can get the exact same fares on the train companies' own websites without the booking fees that thetrainline slap on top. Booking in advance, thetrainline is always MORE expensive than booking elsewhere.
