It's more of a branded gate area than a lounge. It's in the current/former forward coaching lounge separate from the terminal and accessed under the stairs by the old Servisair lounge.

They had refreshments but only because of the new inaugural flights.

BMI Regional - Branding

TCX 69

What are BMI Regional called then?

The wesbite and aircraft seem to have BMI Regional posted all over them.

If you come back with "bmi regional" all in lower cases as on the website, that is the single most pedantic thing i have seen on PPRuNe.

Just curious.

I read somewhere that BM have there own lounge area in Bristol, was wondering if anyone had any/a picture of this setup they have?
As well as operating six scheduled routes from Bristol Airport B(b)mi R(r)egional also operates a corporate shuttle for Airbus from the airport to/from Toulouse and Hawarden with several flights each weekday.

The shuttle flights use the facilities of the Bristol Flying Centre located on the south side of the airport - all airline services operate from the north side - where there are lounge facilities. The BFC lounge is sometimes light-heartedly called terminal 2.

Perhaps this is what you are thinking about.

The below links show pics of the exterior and interior of the BFC premises, including the lounge.

I took some photos of the BM / bm regional lounge area on 13MAY, at the launch of MUC/MXP/HAJ. They're in this small set of photos.

It's the old Forward Coaching Lounge with some BM branding around it. It's quite smart, and really very nice to escape from the crowd of FR and EZY fliers. It just needs a guy in there with a little coffee stand for an hour before each departure, and it'll be perfect.

Exactly that! bmi regional

Just like the easyJet brand is always lower case e, upper case J.

Pedantic maybe, but that's the way the airline should be referred to.

No. You won't find 'BMI Regional' anywhere on the internet or their aircraft!

Marketing and client facing branding is not the same as company name, you both make good points but in a way, you are both right.

True. In the case of bmi regional the actual airline name is British Midland Regional Ltd. but for marketing and brand it is always bmi regional and always in lower case. That`s all I was trying to say. I`ll leave it now.

Honestly, I've seen it all now. Why doesn't this website have a thread for discussing boring irrelevant stuff like this? Who cares? We all know what airline is being referred to. It's almost as pathetic as those discussing the meaning of "near miss".

Now, has anyone actually got any news on this airline or are we all too concerned with how to spell it to care?

It DOES matter to some! If I were applying to join a specific airline I'd certainly want to ensure that any comms I sent had their name represented correctly.

More importantly, now the Billund route is up and running thats all the new routes that were announced earlier this year.

It will be very interesting to see the developments over the next few weeks / months as bmi regional settles in to these routes.

RAFAT, that's your lookout and for you to police. Why should you, I or anybody give a flying toss whether someone else doesn't get it right? There's more important things in life I'm afraid.

Back to talking about the airline itself, does anyone know how many aircraft are based at Bristol now?

Thanks.

Question about cancelled bmir flights:

I'm suspecting that my bmir-flight could be cancelled due to the French strike (destination not in France). On the website bmir says that I may wish to rebook to a different flight (on a later date that would imply) or cancel.

Now, should my flight indeed be cancelled: Does anyone know whether bmir rebooks passengers onto other airlines to get to their destination via any unaffected European hubs - or are they quite difficult with this?

This should be a good route for them for both Pax & cargo, just one question does the ERJ135 have reverse thrust? at 2000m LDA and winter weather it can be a bit interesting, there are 3 other airports nearby (ENML,ENAL & ENKB)and no low level radar coverage has resulted in some near misses
