If only BMIR could find a way of monetizing the number of mentions they get on Pprune as being 'ideal to operate from ABC to XYZ', they wouldn't have to worry about actually flying planes...

Starting in May, bmi regional to offer more flights on the new route BRE-TLS (5/7 now). There will be additional flights on weekends. The exact frequency is not known so far. Source: Facebook-Site of City Airport Bremen (today was the first flight on the route).

LBA base closure

Have just read a post on the LBA thread that the BM are dropping LBA-BRU route, with the last flight operating on 6th May. As a result the base at LBA is to close.

BHX-TLS

Hardly a month since BHX-TLS was announced the schedule has changed already.

The Monday - Friday inbound time stays the same but appears to be the Bremen - TLS aircraft.

The 0700 BHX-TLS has been pushed back to 11.30 Monday - Friday and at present sits on the ground doing nothing until 11.30.

The Sunday arrives just after lunch and returs to TLS changing from a late afternoon arrival. I know somebody who has booked the Sunday deliberately over other cheaper options for the late afternoon arrival into BHX and within a month it has changed.

The BHX-LYS is still operated by the inbound TLS Monday - Friday

Are they going to add another flight from BHX in the morning?

Claiming back holiday duty pay

Bit off topic but is there any news on claiming back duty pay during holidays since the court ruling in October? I know it wasn't a case with Bmir but assume it will apply to all airlines.

Have had a little google but not much been said since the ruling.

Thanks

VG

BMI Regional signs maintenance deal with SAAB

Saab Signs Contract for Component Maintenance - AviationPros.com

By my maths and exchange rates as of (140313) that works out at a contract a little over Ł10,000,000 with SAAB.

BHX-TLS

The 0700 BHX-TLS has been pushed back to 11.30 Monday - Friday
I have booked flights on this , and at the time it was the original departure time of 07.00. It has now been over 2 weeks since the schedule has changed and i STILL have not had a word from BMIR. I used to fly frequently on Bmi baby and they were forever changing their schedules after bookings but at least i was e-mailed straight away so as i could alter my plans if need be. Luckily i do monitor aircraft schedules ( as most ppruners do ) and i have already changed my plans due to the later than originally expected arrival in TLS. But what of my fellow pax who booked flights before the schedule change?? it's 4 and a half hours in the departure lounge for them!

10th new route this year.
Have any been cancelled this year so far? (E.g., if 10 have been cancelled, the sum total apparent expansion is zero.) What is the actual 'sum total'?

What would the chances be of some routes ex BFS.? A few gaps there, CWL and EMA in particular. A 145 could be a good size plane to develop routes like BRU .?
