"Interesting" twitter feed on the bmiregional website.

It looked better when it was the previous "holding" page.

Wonder when full website go live is?
Anyone know?

Is the picture intentional? It's a wall and fire exit with visible fire alarm complete with a wafting smoke effect. Marketing have a giggle?

Perhaps they got the gig in a fire sale?

That's got to be the worst website ever. A total lack of information. If someone didn't previously know about bmi regional they are hardly going to be inspired by a few tweets and a picture of an emergency exit.

If you read the tweets they do say they are updating the website and they are apologising for the delay.

Should be all up and running this afternoon, apparently.

To be honest I think the current page with the tweets looks more obviously a holding/coming soon page.
The previous version looked too much like a dysfunctional website, more likely to put people off I reckon.

Anyway fingers crossed for this afternoon.

Basic - but works.

Hopeful content will be updated and added over the next few days.

They need to kill the flybmi website however

Southampton

It would be good to see BMI Regional fly from Aberdeen to Southampton plus flights from SOU to Brussels and Frankfurt taking up the slack from the cancellation by Eastern and Flybe respectfully, SOU would be a good opportunity for BMI Regional to operate on routes that are not currently flown from SOU such as the two routes mentioned, giving Flybe some sort of competition would be good for SOU and also for BMI Regional.

It makes you wonder why if Eastern can't succeed on BRU with quite a small plane, BMIR would do any better. There are slot problems, apparently, at Zaventem that prevent twice daily flights which would appeal to business travellers at reasonable times,.

BMR Fleet Bases.

This is based on the flying today:
ABZ: 4 - 1x E135, 3x E145 (2 needed for the routes ABZ-MAN, ABZ-NWI, ABZ-EBJ and ABZ-GRQ. 2 spare/for charter (and 1 in maintenance))
MAN: 3 - 2x E135, 1x E145 (2x E135 needed for the routes MAN-EDI (3 of 4 daily), MAN-ANR, MAN-LYS, 1x E145 spare/ for charter)
EDI: 2 - 2x E145 (2 needed for the routes EDI-CPH (1 of 2 daily), EDI-MAN (1 of 4 daily), EDI-BRU and EDI-ZRH)
EMA: 2 - 2x E145 (2 needed for the routes EMA-FRA and EMA-BRU)
BRS: 2 - 2x E145 (1 needed for the route BRS-ABZ. 1x E145 spare/ for charter)
LBA: 1 - 1x E135 (LBA-BRU)
GLA: 1 - 1x E145 (GLA-CPH, normally flies GLA-CPH-EDI-CPH-GLA)

2x E145 also fly the Airbus Shuttles from Chester and Toulouse to Bristol Filton. They usually overnight in Chester and Toulouse

NOTE: The fleet moves around a lot and the E135s will regularly be seen in replacement of an E145. As there is quite a bit of charter work, numbers at each base tend to fluctuate)

Thanks James. No replacement work for Newcastle then. Have crews relocated to Edinburgh?

Cheers,

This is the following quote from the latest bmi regional press release. So it looks they won't be announcing any further new routes until the new year.

Chairman's letter | bmi regional

In early 2013, we’ll be announcing further new routes to our schedule from some of our currently served and new airports to expand our business.

I suppose they need to get settled in and established. We shall wait and see what new routes are to be announced. They did say previously that NCL would figure in this announcement.
