We flew in yesterday, just as the exodus was happening. Very sorry to see all the aircraft going. EMA wont quite be the same again.

Good luck to everyone involved.

bmiBaby

I heard that BA put a Press embargo on the closing down of bmiBaby last weekend......

And I thought there was no such thing as bad publicity.

Good luck everyone.

Thanks, Buster the Bear for the video of my last ever landing in a commercial airliner (1st one into Lasham G-TOYK)

A very sad day to cap off 10 years with a very fine little airline. I'll miss it and my colleagues a lot, but this thread will provide some great memories.

Thanks all for the pics, vids and kind words about WW, a brand which was brought down by external pressures and manipulations, and not by its business model, which could have worked.

It's quite fitting that my flight into retirement was on the same day that the MOD announced the selling for scrap of my namesake HMS Ark Royal (upon which I was the second person ever to land an aircraft, a Wessex 5 back in 1984!)

Cheers all!

How, pray tell, would BA embargo the press?

And I think you will find it was reported on the BBC, as well as in the Telegraph and in the travel trade titles.

I think MaximumPete was referring to/ alleging that BA had put an internal embargo on its own people talking to the press about the baby shutdown.

So, did they?

Bye guys, well done and remember to hold your heads up high and realise you flew higher and faster and far above the awful harp tails.................the 10years gave people a choice other than the arrogant indifference from Dublin or the cheapness of the Orangeness.....it WAS worth it. Good luck

The folk I know there have been 'shafted'. with a blanket ban on the media reporting on the airlines final days, the World's Favourite airline have not conducted themselves well.

Etihad are gaining some good pilots.

Can't of been a blanket ban on the media, I watched at least two different reports on itv

The beeb even reported it on bbc Cornwall webpage, but the article linked to a report about flymaybe stepping onto the EMA-JER route rather than anything Cornwall based. !!!

Great Vid of a fantastic bunch of people that worked for bmibaby not BMI, there is a very very big difference .
If you can find a way of contacting the editor and get it put right that would be fantastic.
Currently its an insult to the babies I know and love.
