As Eastern said, there is nothing remotely dangerous about procedural control, it's just far less efficient. "report passing x", "report reaching y", instead of just seeing it on a radar screen, plus the separations are bloody massive.

Not wanting to pick on you but you do sort of bring it upon yourself.
Lots of airports don't have radar coverage, CoDA for example but then it could be argued it doesn't have many airplanes visiting either!!!!!!

"Sorry, but to have witnessed 4 aircraft perform 4 go arounds each in the space of 30 minutes is a bloody serious issue both on a safety side and a service side....."

You're right, the guy that posted that drivel must be a complete "numpty"!

Nope. Reported elsewhere as NOTAM'd out of service until at least close of business (2130) 24 April.

Far as I know the radar is still knackered but there is bound to be progress on a fix after 2 weeks! Surely a major radar manufacturer can't just abandon a busy regional airport, bet the customer service survey will be worth reading anyway!

I was flying last week and don't recall any notam about the DME, if it was bust as well how would Harbour manage to issue procedural approaches?

I see on Twitter BFS have a stand at Routes Europe this week but BHD haven't. I thought they would have wanted to make their presence known

BHD have raised a couple.

It seems the main selling point for NI is booze....

Perhaps relying on the International staff to vector visitors towards them?

Topical joke!

Mart901 I believe that stand is the InvestNI stand
According to routes Europe website the exhibitors are BFS and Invest/Visit NI no sign of BHD with a stand

Seems a little Unfair that BHD get to share a stand with invest NI and the tourist board and BFS have to fend for themselves
Some favouritism going on?
