Seems like someone has put on the wiki that Manx2 are pulling out of BHD altogether from September any evidence on this ?? Or is it just someone messing around ?

EI moving
Whats the big deal about EI moving - does it really matter which airport they operate from? There has been lots of moving in the past - BA regional routes from BFS to BHD, Easyjet partial move to BHD then back again, BMI from BFS to BHD, a former incarnation of Flybe moving to BFS for a while and so on and so on.
What seems to me to be more important is the fact that BHD has not worked out for a number of airlines - Ryanair, Air Berlin, Aer Arann are but a few fairly recent examples.
In addition, there has been a fuss about the importance of the BFS-LHR route and the fact that if EI move, it will not be served. People are overlooking that fact that from the time BA pulled the Super Shuttle out in 2001/2002 until EI came in in 2007 there rounte was not operated. bmi simply met all the Heathrow demand from BHD

The Fairy Rotodyne
The Rotodyne was a very noisy proposal for a Gyrocopter Airliner, in the 1950's - From memory it had two turboprop Napier Eland engines? a stub wing and the familiar gyrocopter rotary four bladed rotor, that was jet powered. I just missed out on a Airfix model 40 Years ago.
A sort of Birmingham or Bristol to London, commuter Aircraft.
CAT III
[I had forgot about the Jets a the rotor tips] - You can use a well known search engine to find it.

clareview - exactly! People in the one hand are saying there is no need for 2 airports in such a short proximity with overlapping markets and in the next breath half of NI cut off from LHR service if EI goes. Although airlines have moved and failed they moved for a reason in the first place otherwise they would have stayed. Airlines have failed at BFS too, wizzair was mentioned as being one just recently. BFS will still have high frequency flights to 4 London airports. Also I think BHD needs a lower fare competitor, look at the effect of FR and WW on passenger numbers, also it should give BE a wake up call.
ESCNI - the communication that came from BHD when the rumour first became public was that EI have commited to a summer schedule at BFS and would only be able to move in winter so unless you are flying to LHR I doubt it will affect you, EI are generally not given over to flipantly swapping and changing airports/schedules.

Are the BA timetables accurate for the winter schedule??? I ask as BA have stated from the winter they will offer 7 rather than 6 daily departures. I am checking flights for a weekend in London next February for a birthday. Friday 1st Feb offers 8 flights, with the first two being night-stopping aircraft at BHD. A departure at 6.30 and another at 7.35.
On comparing the Aer Lingus schedule and the BA for the same dates, the timings at LHR don't simply tally, for BA to then post that some of these flights are to be operated by EI on behalf of BA???

According to Jamie Delargy's (UTV Business correspondent) PPRuNe account, BHD is to make an announcement next Tuesday!!!
I for one don't think any decision has been made regarding EI/EIR to BHD, proper details would have been leaked before now

Jim Fitzpatrick's BBC report last month was the result of "proper details" being "leaked". Any report by a journalist which contains phrases such as "the BBC understands" contains facts given to the journalist during an off the record briefing. An off the record briefing is another name for a "leak". I've no doubt his report will prove extremely accurate when the details of the move are finally revealed.

Or a researcher reading Pprune and a kite being flown.
This rumour is still dragging along. It smacks greatly of the BmiBaby being sold nonsense. If they ARE going (and frankly at this stage who cares anymore?) I believe that Ambrose would have trumpeted it from the highest building in Belfast. The fact that he hasn't indicates to me either they aren't going or there is a rearguard action being fought by BFS to persuade them to stay and they are pondering their options.
Either way it appears to be neither signed nor sealed at the moment.
