Who said it was a problem ? If it's not a problem then I would assume to see a reasonable distribution of the existing 733's to newer routes / bases as new deloiveries spread evenly across whole network.
But then that isn't going to happen is it ?.........................

Oh God yeah... I think there will be "certain" bases that get all the new 738's before others. Bar one or 2 for performance reasons from NCL/LBA I think we'll be 2 to stay with quite a lot of old 738's and 733's

Big earners like MAN, BHX and STN (maybe EDI) will attract the new aircraft first, which is understandable, obviously. More money and more utilisation will be important after such a large investment, the 733's and 1st gen 738's are paid for

I don't mind, it's quite entertaining watching them use every inch of runway at NCL on a warm, calm day

Big earners... how do you know what bases earn more for Jet2? STN hasn't even launched yet!! And GLA has long been a bigger base than EDI, despite opening a good decade later.

Is that correct, Callum? Next summer there will be 29 destinations from GLA and 33 from EDI. One advantage in EDI is that there is no competition from TCX.

EDI has more destinations but GLA is a larger base which is all 737-800, and GLA also has more flights.

From what we have been told, next year will see the new aeroplanes in exactly these bases. I know nothing of the supposed "big earners", however there is a strategy behind ring fencing the new aeroplanes to certain bases at first, that is the requirement of different sets of spares, by putting the aeroplanes in just the 3 locations, there is no requirement to have more spares in the system at other bases.

Manchester as Jet2's largest base, and Birmingham and Stansted as much more wealthy catchment areas (and based on the size of the bases from the outset), I think it's safe to class them as "big earners" to be honest

Be interesting to see if LS keep taking on second hand aircraft as well, I wonder if the 73G and 739 could be future contenders to cover the top and bottom end.

How many aircraft does Jet2 base at EMA? What are the likely implications on the base with BHX opening down the road?

From S17, EMA will be 4x 738s and 3x 733s Which is an increase from S16.

I don't think you'll see much impact from BHX other than that EMA probably won't be quite as much a focus for growth as it has been in recent years.

Has anyone else heard rumours that BHX could be receiving a 5th based unit sometime in 2017?!

Looking at the W17/18 schedule it looks as if BHX and STN will both require an extra aircraft, taking them to 5 and 7 based respectively.

Yes it is correct. Jet2 has 6 737-800s at Glasgow all of which do two return trips to Europe per day, carrying significantly more passengers than they do from any other airport in Scotland. All the more impressive concidering the GLA base opened a decade after EDI.

I have no idea how you got these readings, please enlighten us, and while you're at it you could perhaps embellish us with what on earth you are actually talking about????

Seagull. Darts profits were £163m for 6 months a 12% increase, Easyjet £468m for a full year and a reduction of 28%.
I sold my Easyjet shares at £18 each, today low £10.
With regard age of the fleet, G-CELJ goes for scrapping tomorrow, CELR, CELZ, CELS and CELB to my knowledge have already gone.
When the Royal Mail contract ceases next year I am sure a number of QC planes will go and there is a minimum 16 planned in the next year.
With half the fleet (30) under a year old this will bring the age down considerably.
I am not sure though the age of the fleet has any bearing on its operation, unfortunately has been used against Jet2 when no other negative can be found.
