They are not chrome and not new, other than the ones delivered with the a/c.
Airlines sometimes polish the engine intakes and the leading edges of the wings.

G-LSAG

I see G-LSAG is once again broken having diverted back to Manchester today whilst operating LS891 to ACE, the second time in a week (the same happened on Sunday and it hadn't flown since) and the fourth time in a month (before Sunday it hadn't flown for a week after it's previous return).

I know these Chinese 21Bs are rough anyway but is it time to call it a day with AG? it must be costing them a fortune!

It is over 28 years old now, in fairness most 757's that age are now Freight!

Not true.

AG had flown several times after its hic-cups a couple of weeks ago, and I believe that it had flown post its return to base earlier this week prior to today's return.

The issues this week are totally unrelated to the ones a couple of weeks ago.

There are plenty of aeroplanes knocking around of a similar age, these aeroplanes are treated with plenty of TLC and have a good few years left yet. Nobody blinks an aye at BA's B747's flying around that are of a similar vintage.

You're quite right Johnny, however in this online age the local media have picked up on all this, including the fact that this is 4 times in a month for 'AG. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if they get pax refusing to travel on it at some point when it returns to service, complete with sad-eyed photos in the Manchester Evening News about their ruined holiday. It may be that Jet2 decide the reputation cost of keeping it on outweighs the cost of retiring it from the fleet.

Aircraft and any other machine for that matter are only as good as the care they receive , Perhaps sorting the issues might be more sensible

Jet2 dont want a repeat of the door debacle a few years back thats for sure

According to Plane Finder it operated LBA/TFS/LBA yesterday, the inbound looks like it went a little late. Perhaps steps or baggage belt struck the aeroplane and an inspection might have been required. It flew back though, so I can only assume it wasn't significant.

Very good news. This will send out a powerful message to the drunks and idiots who think they are the only people that matter on a flight.
Well done Jet2 and I hope this becomes standard practice for other airlines.

Aside of their other selling points, I think for many ordinary holidaymakers after a stress free time, their attitude to towards morons who try to make other passenger's life a misery is one of the biggest reasons for travelling with them.

All other airlines need to watch and learn.

Two in a week!!

Here are details of the second judgement Jet2 got, this time at Carlisle County Court 2 days earlier: Drunk passenger banned from Jet2 and ordered to pay compensation after causing severe disruption on Edinburgh flight - Daily Record

Strong management taking a stance against idiots who disrupt life for ordinary travellers..Well done

Can anyone from Jet2 translate the following message into a factual explanation?

We’re sorry our online check-in limit, of seats that we can allocate automatically, has been reached so we’ve switched you to airport check-in. Please do not worry, there isn’t a problem with your booking and your seat(s) will be allocated at the airport. Please note you will not be charged any additional fees for collecting your boarding pass at the airport.
Needless to say I'm pretty p!ssed off with Jet2. I selected online check-in as I'm travelling with hand luggage only and with a departure time of 07:30 I planned to arrive at GLA at around 06:30 and go straight to the departure gate. Now it looks like I'll have the joys of getting up an hour earlier, leaving the house an hour earlier and spending an hour more than planned hanging about an airport terminal at silly o'clock in the morning. All so I can have some teenager wearing a copious amount of make-up ask me if I packed my bags myself.

Thank's very much Jet2.
