Well done Jet2. Good to see them supporting their spiritual home.

No new bases which anyone knows about at the moment! These things tend to be sprung on those at the pointy end with not much notice!

BBC News - Low cost airlines credit cards fees 'too high' says Which?

some very good footage of a Jet2 757 from above, the article is about some low cost airlines practice of charging for credit and debit cards, to be fair Jet2 don't charge for debit cards, however i think £6.99 for check in online is taking the p**s also £23 for a bag one way is a bit steep

I think that clip is rediculous given that Jet2 dont currently charge for Debit Cards...and how is Ryanair not on there? I wonder how much O'Leary paid BBC News to keep clear of the clip??

Ryanair perhaps isn't there because believe it or not, they are actually more lenient on credit card fees than many other LCC's.

EasyJet, Jet2 and Ryanair all don't charge for Debit Cards. For Credit Cards, EasyJet and Jet2 charge 2.5% of the total booking price, Ryanair only charges 2%.

EasyJet and Ryanair both also allow you to select your payment method on the very first page. Therefore you can see how much your booking will cost with either a debit or credit card right from the very start, so you don't get that last additional cost spring up on the very last page.

So out of EZY, LS and FR... The truth is that Jet2 is probably the worst (because you aren't shown the price until the very end of the booking), then EasyJet as they allow you to see from the start and then maybe to some people's surprise, Ryanair is the best by also showing you from the start and charging 0.5% less.

It's worth adding that Norwegian Europe's 3 rd biggest low cost carrier charge just a flat fee of £4 reservation for credit cards and no charge for on line checkin, I can't see Jet2 getting away with the on line checkin fee not being shown at the booking stage, you can't avoid it, so it should be included, it spoils what is otherwise a good product, shame they don't have confidence in their product to show true cost up front.

I have no problem with charges for bags and sports equipment and card fee's that reflect the cost of processing, but the rest is just misleading the true cost of a flight.

I thought the B738's had a seating capacity of 189. Just checked the seating plan of a Blackpool to Lanzarote flight and there are 192 seats shown. Can anyone clarify.

Are these to be used as replacement for existing a/c or for expansion next year?

Are you counting 1def? As this isn' actually there on board. Row 2def is the front row on aircraft right.

New Routes from MAN to JER, EGC and VIE for S14

Great news that Jet2 is launching Jersey, Bergerac and Vienna from Manchester for Summer 2014! Presumably an extra aircraft to be based there?

i passed through Lille airport in France on Wednesday and there were three Jet2 Boeing 737-300 present. Two had arrived in the morning from Bristol. The third arrival was, IIRC, from Belfast . All three aircraft departed with ten minutes of each other 4 pm'ish, two to Edinburgh and the third (IIRC) to Leeds (could be wrong here). Anyone in the know why they were there?
