"I personally believe that CityJet stepping in on Edinburgh, Glasgow & Paris after the shocking announcement that Flybe were to withdraw from the services"

Shocking...really?

Well it was shocking at the time of the announcement with no idea who could potentially step in on these routes.

Despite EDI being retained it was to be operated on the Dornier 328 by Loganair. We would have lost 2 x Daily Glasgow and daily Paris which would have been a great loss to the airport.

Anybody who has been following the Flybe story wouldn't have been so shocked.

I see that both Thomson and Thomas Cook have restarted flights from Cardiff to Antalya next summer.

Appears that despite relatively poor performance last Winter, VY are continuing their year-round operation for the second consecutive year. Flights to ALC and AGP are partially loaded into the calendar although not year bookable, both are twice weekly.

Also, it seems that VY are to offer 3 extra rotations CWL-SVQ-CWL for the UEFA Super Cup held in Cardiff on the 12th August. This airlift should be quite large, since the fixture attracts a large FIFA/UEFA contingent, plus of course the Sevilla and Real Madrid fans.

FR are to offer flights between CWL-DUB for the Wales vs. Ireland Six Nations match on the 14th March 2015. A nice little booster, and a way for them to make money spoiling the rather large EIR/EI party that has already been announced.

A private Cessna appears to have aborted takeoff, and came to a halt on the runway hence affecting arriving aircraft, despite WX134 getting away. Should be cleared within the hour.

Interesting prices on direct flights CWL-SVQ for August, as Vueling.com has decided to put on sale the positionals flights for the Super Cup.

12 August Cardiff (CWL) 10:05 - Seville (SVQ) 13:35 --> £47,90

An excellent opportunity to visit Southern Spain! Seville is just 70 miles of beautiful beaches in Costa de la Luz.

And how much does it cost to get home again?

P.S. I worked for the famous "Skytrain" operator whereas all the punters saved their 50 quid's to travel MIA/LGW, the same fare as it had cost them to get out there, to get back to LGW to then realise that all seats and flights (at that price) were full.

You can come back via BCN with Vueling or even a better option is to fly from Malaga AGP back to the UK with any low-cost airline from £75.

This is an excellent inbound flight fare, but for the return, you will have to pay a standard 'mid-August AGP-UK fare'!

Regards

Not sure if it should be noted immediately but DUB-CWL has been added to the Ryanair booking page, nothing displaying yet - Unfortunately should FR launch the route it could see EIR disappear from it.

I can confirm that 2 flights will operate on both the Friday & Sunday for the 2015 RBS Six Nations Wales V Ireland fixture.

It's possible that if the'se flights sell well then more will be added.

Aer Lingus launched their W2014 schedule with 4 x A320 which is a first in a while as they are usually upgraded later in the season.

Great to see BFS have secured flights to MCO with Virgin, be it only for a few weeks, seems to be a very similar service Travel City did from CWL with their 747.

Shame CWL could not attract Virgin too, especially as they often divert into us. Then they would say they fly from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales......

Since when does any airline base new route making decisions on how many times they've diverted to an airfield?

Thumbs up Vueling

Nice to see VY continuing their commitment to CWL in 2015:

ALC on sale January - June
AGP on sale January - June
BCN on sale March - June

Let's hope PMI returns thereafter, and maybe more...

Good move as people will get booking cheap fares if they want to get in early as the likes or FR & EZY over the bridge aren't on sale beyond March yet.

Well done VY, and of course CWL!

Looks as if it's a 763, according to the current flight description on the Thomson website

Smile

More Ryanair flights added for Rugby next March. Ryanair seem to be getting more friendly with Cardiff. Also T9 bus service has been awarded to NAT bus company. Every 20 mins summer, every 30 minutes winter
