blue up

Where did you get this information from? Even though it wouldn't be a major suprise due to the Boeing 757-200 leaving the fleet looking on the Thomson website the holidays or flights are not bookable past Apr 2014 so without some inside info then it's not possible to know.

What also has to be taken into consideration if Cardiff would see a part based 3rd B737-800 as Cardiff has seen an increase in capacity this year which would have been strange to reduce it again in 2014.

Isn't it Thomson's policy to get rid of the B757s from their fleet. Guess they will then have 737s(800s), B767s and B787. There is a lot of talk on the Thomson pprune thread about getting rid of the 75s

Wales - Canada link.......

Wouldn't Air Canada Rouge be a good company for the "new" Cardiff to target ??? Toronto has been served for years, notably with CP Air, Ward Air, Worldways, Nationair, Air Transat & most recently Zoom. Be a great company to target & get inboard........was always very popular with Zoom operating 2 flights a week with B767-300 and B757-200 to Toronto plus a Vancouver sector too. Canada and Wales have strong ties........

Long Haul

Be good to see the return of some long haul destinations....... A few years back Monarch, Thomson, XL and Zoom had a good selection of flights to Orlando, Toronto & Vancouver. Lets sort the Tax out and get them in. Should also chase Eastern Airways to start Aberdeen via Leeds as they did in Bristol before they left......this may work for T3 with no competition

It will be a very long time until APD is devolved to the Welsh Government if indeed it ever does especially as it was voted against in Westminster a week or two ago.

As of Eastern Airwyas they already operate Aberdeen via Newcastle and i'm unsure if there is demand to increase this offering. I believe I read somewhere that the Leeds Bradford figures have been dropping for several years.

As for Air Canada Rouge they are a possible target to go after and no doubt they have been on the radar of Spencer Birns for some time. It was just this week that a Dublin was announced.

Air Canada Rouge

Yeah they are going year round to DUB plus also during summer to EDI, only got 2 B767-300's at the moment for transatlantic flights but aim to increase. CWL be a good choice for them !

CWL long haul

I see on the BRS thread that TOM have dropped their BRS long haul flights to CUN & SFB from Summer 2014........does this mean a return could be in the pipeline for CWL ???? Big enough runway at CWL......be good if this true, fingers crossed.

I doubt it at the moment. Just looking at Summer 14 and TOM have dropped a few destinations from CWL too. AYT has gone NBE is no longer offered to name a few.

Although looking at the Thomas Cook departures SFB is showing as a Sat departure. Not gone through to see if this is a regular flight or just one off.

Does anyone know if BA's 787s will be delivered at CWL for final testing, just like the 77Ws, before heading onwards to LHR for service?

Suggestion elsewhere is that the 787s will go PAE-LHR

The 77W were delivered to BA at CWL due to Boeing not fitting the CW cabins prior to delivery, off the top of my head the 77W had wt, wt+ & F installed before delivery but BA added the CW cabin and maybe the overhead crew rest area, but the final point I'm not sure of.

I was kind of hoping, for at least maintenance, I'd get to see the 787 at CWL. CWL is BA's main long haul aircraft maintenance base right?

I suppose it depends on how much Mr Boeing charges to fit out the cabins! could the A380s and A350s also follow to CWL for final fitting?

I'm pretty sure BA has built the A380 its own hangar. So we probably will not see the A380 at CWL. But there's no reason why we wouldn't see the 787 or the A350. I'm hoping

787s are replacing the 763s so I would guess they would head to CWL for mx.
