Was just wondering why don't icelandair come here more often instead of the odd Sunday ?
Icelandair rely on transit traffic from Europe to North America, and vice versa. Dublin relies to some extent on the same model, so probably the market is fairly limited for Icelandair in Ireland.

Hopefully the new routes are DFW MIA and LAS .
What about Denver? I recall talk about Denver being mentioned before too. Would it be considered a viable route?

IIRC the only current daily TATL services to Denver are a BA and Icelandair

On a related note, do people think BA will move to Terminal 2 to share ground-handling and lounges etc?
it would seem logical and you would expect BA mainline and cityflyer to all operate from the same terminal, lets hope they do the logical thing!

cs
No they will not be moving to T2 for a long long time. That is BA, IB and VY.

EI will only handle them if it's cost effective for them to do it, they dropped EY for this reason.

What happened with this afternoon's Turkish Airlines flight? A friend who's at the airport said that it was accompanied to the terminal by fire brigade.

Same group so different costs attached. BA binned third party handling at LHR years ago but they hande Iberia at LHR in the same way Iberia handle BA at MAD. As schedules are enhanced to bring the airlines closer together, they attempt to get the customer experience to be as seamless as possible. Effectively they'll operate as one carrier so having BA in a different part of the building is something IAG will be looking to address, if possible and practical. Big IF that one

New Runway

Times reports today the daa board have agreed a 250 million runway and it will be announced in the coming weeks. Likely to be 3110m

Based on existing planning however you can expect the 23.00-07.00 usage and 65 cap on flights to be appealed and there are some good grounds. One being that you can have 340 movements off the existing between 23.00-07.00 currently and that is only restricted because of the capabilities of RY28.

Great to see it finally and it would appear work will be starting quickly as they need a high % completed to be able continue or apply for an extension after 29 August 2017.

I would assume work will start shortly as any appeal is likely to take quite a while and if they need a certain % of work completed the DAA can't afford to wait that long. That is taking into account a lot of prep work has gone on behind closed doors and soundings taken on any appeal being granted to the numbers of movements during night hours.

Anyone know what's happening with April 1st AA 290 JFK-DUB? Seems to have left several hours late and then turned back to JFK a couple of hours into the flight. Just curious.

The new layout: a new 10L/28R over defunct runway 11/29.

A new control tower is required too, since the terminal will block the view of the far end of the new runway.

Great news !!

Will this benefit the A380 or would it matter ?

Hopefully some new long haul routes come out of this .

Would Singapore, Bangkok and Rio be possible ?

According to the public Airbus data it will be long enough for a full-MTOW A380-800 weight-variant 6 ( 573 tonnes MTOW ) on a standard-ISA day. I believe that is Emirate's current majority version. It might just squeeze in the heaviest variant 8 at 575 tonnes but their public field-performance graphs aren't detailed enough to be sure.

Still, being able to handle ONE MILLION POUNDS of aircraft is impressive, assuming the taxiways are spaced appropriately and can take the weight.

Would anyone want to depart Dublin with an A380 at MTOW? No idea, but it could cover 8,000 nm with a full passenger load which from Dublin is enough to reach any capable airport in the World with the exception of Australasia.
