GRO-MAN not bookable now?
Still (more and more desparately) looking for Girona flights for the winter. I could not find any flights from Manchester in November or December...
Is Girona flights to be loaded soon? My alternatives now are limited to ALC-NYO at €199 + taxes one-way.....

The MAN base was only for 2 A/C in Winter 2011
On Mon,Wed,Fri & Sun there are departures to CIA,BGY& RGY before 0700
On Tues, Thurs & Sun there is only a departure to BGY.
Is there an error somewhere?

Jamie is usually correct with his information. If so and GRO is 5 per week on Tues, Thurs and Sat early morning and Weds and Sun in the afternnon this would fill the Gaps.
It would still leave the RYG flights as the odd ones which don't fit in with what has been released so far.
FR often add some flights after the initial announcement. Some thought NOC and ORK would be announced but they haven't so far. If NOC and ORK were added and also perhaps KUN or RIX which have also been muted then this could give rise to 3 A/C for winter rather than 2. Just a thought

Very please with the new base and new routes. Interesting as it looks like there is still some shuffling and potentially two or three new routes still to announce. NOC and LDY clearly come to mind and RIX or KUN would be great. Jamie's heads is really appreciated but would be interested to know why OPO was not picked as I have already pointed out elsewhere? Also Jamie, anything else in the baltic states (i.e. RIX or KUN or both?) other than TLL likely to drop down in the near future.

FR do generally add a few routes after the base is announced. With MAN having 2ac for winter and 4 for summer its hard to know if they will add more for winter or wait until next summer.
Rygge will most lightly be done by Rygge based aircraft.
OPO not sure why but it is served for Liverpool which would be a factor.

Ryanair may reopen there Kerry Base from October if they get the KIR - DUB PSO to operate twice daily. A decision will be made by September. Ryanair, Aer Arann, Flybe and other regional UK airlines and budget carriers from the UK have tendered for the contract.

from someone in the know at Manchester (I have heard that Ezy are not that happy with operations at Man, constantly late first wave departures, poor handling of multiple arrivals, one wonders will FR will tolerate constantly late early morning departures.)

FR base at MAN
As I mentioned in previous posts, Ryanair devlopment at MAN was always likely to be interesting and certainly has provoked some debate.
To give my overview I think Ryanair's base at MAN should be cautiously welcolmed. While not wanting to go over old ground again I think they have prompted some competition, evidence of which (I know I will be reprimanded again by easyflyer83) is EZY's original offering for 2012 rising from only Palma de Mallorca to that plus Madrid, Berlin and Bilbao. OK MAD and SXF were instead of HEL but ask pretty much anyone (i.e. fare paying customers) what they would prefer and are prepared to pay for and I bet we all know the answer! However EZY are doing a great job now (as are Jet2) and I don't think they will do a MOL (Mk1) and throw toys out of pram. Of course nobody likes competition and Jet2 throwing in the towel with Bergamo (to be honest I'm amazed they even wanted to go back anyway based on Flybe being successful into Milan and FR always being on the cards) smacks of an ill considered decision resulting in panic. However don't get me wrong I think Jet2 area a good airline and if they think that they can't compete with FR on some routes they are right to pull them. However perhaps LS should think about providing some eye catching and lucrative services into Poland like Krakow or Portugal with Oporto. They did this with Brive which I believe has done well and will be popular despite FR encrouching with opening Tours.
All I would say for LS and EZY is, don't loose your nerve and retreat from MAN, just get even smarter (more intersting routes that people are prepared to pay for - even Monarch appear to be learning that lesson!) as I think the quality that you provide has the edge and you will continue to succeed at MAN - even if FR sometimes are cheaper.
By the way Jamie2K9 and easyflyer83, thanks and keep up the good work in keeping us enthusiast up to date (and world-rep don't even think of leaving!).

If Ryanair is paying the same fees as easyJet and Jet2 at Manchester I don't think the other airlines should complain and there a plenty of airports where they already compete. If Ryanair is paying less they should demand the same prices.
