Now thats unexpected, i was seriously expecting NOC and was thinking maybe ORK, but maybe they're holding back until the Irish Gov drop the ATT.

Could be more routes at a later date.
LBA for example has 23 routes on 2 based aircraft.
MAN will have 26 routes on 4 based aircraft, some of which *could* still continue on other bases (TFS/MAD/ALC/FAO/DUB) units (we will know for sure tomorrow).
I could honestly expect ORK/NOC to MAN given the rumours, and I wonder if SNN will make an appearance as seen as EIr are doing well.
Also, there were rumours of KUN and RIX, so, when the timetable is up it will be easy to see what gaps are available.

MAN-HHN is back :-)
Great news they are bringing back HHN-MAN ! Not yet bookable, but they used to have the excellent Sunday 6pm departure back to the UK. Good news also for HHN which had various route cuts over the past year (and local politics trouble).

Maybe that was another reason why BE gave up on FRA-MAN, they should have access to MAN slot applications.
Same might be true for EZY starting-up SXF-MAN. SXF and FKB the only biggish FR places in Germany not to get a MAN route. Also they've then effectively moved TLL from EMA to MAN. Sounds sensible, though yes, I'd also think RIX and KUN would have been good ideas. KUN is already served from LPL, and RIX from EMA.
So, MOL, the German Airtax silently forgotten about, with HHN, NRN, FMM, BRE getting MAN routes :-)
Well, what to say from a BHX perspective. Not good news for BHX.

Thoughts now? Are you impressed that MOL puts business before ego?

Bet Jet2 are "chuffed" about this, er not
Ibiza/Malaga/Murcia/Rome can probably largely absorb the competition, with maybe some minor frequency reductions. Jet 2 won't like losing their monopoly to Murcia and Rome though
Ryanair are at a disadvantage with their airport choice in Barcelona and Paris
And Milan Bergamo/Reus are hardly significant routes for Jet 2 at MAN

I bet Jet2 aren't the only ones not happy, this will ruffle a few feathers with the other airlines too, I'd be pretty sure easy will be well pissed at this announcement along with Monarch and i doubt thomson or t/cook will be doing cart wheels either. How long before these guys start cutting back,or defering expansion? On other hand good to get another based airline, but one one wonders if its all about getting pax through doors and numbers up, Is it still a one bag rule with Ryanair at man, if so that won't help the retailers there. Pretty much see why Baby are leaving now.

AirHumberside.
J2 most certainly wont like the competition on the Rome route...I know the yield and as they say. The worst thing about a monopoly....is not having one yourself !!!
Expect at least 2 or 3 airframes to be moved to other bases where the route yields offer a potential higher return.
Theres no point flogging a dead horse when it can still limp around in a different paddock
That's the great thing about planes and portakabins...the can be moved lock stock and barrel anywhere or just flogged on....Arthur Daley and Terry back in North London would be proud

Ryanair to appeal ‘unjust decision’ in FACUA case
Ryanair has instructed its lawyers to immediately appeal what it believes as an unjust decision by the Seville Court of First Instance which denied Ryanair an injunction against FACUA.

Ryanair and Glasgow International are in talks about flights from there. They will not affect there Prestwick base.

Does anybody know if there is a way to display FR routes as a "timetable". i.e. I want to see what days of the week LPA is served from all the various end points on the routes to here. There doesn't seem to be any easy way to do this on the ryanair.com web site. Thanks in advance.

Jamie I read that too but I take what MOL says with an extremely big pinch of salt. Apparently Ryanair have been "in talks" with Glasgow International for years but nothing ever comes of it. It could just be a threat to Prestwick management.

Ryanair and Glasgow International are in talks about flights from there. They will not affect there Prestwick base.
Hence any GLA base would be a potential dual base in the beginning with a few choices,
1) move the PIK sun routes to GLA letting PIK wither
2) duplicate the sun routes at GLA
3) open new city routes in GLA leaving sun routes at PIK
Given Glasgow's legendary inability to make money on European city routes I would be looking at 1) and 2) with 2) being unlikely as they will be competing with each other.
Hence I have no doubt FR and GLA are in talks (again) the main reason is to put the frightereners on PIK who have no other traffic, they have no Plan B. Incidentally if easyJet were to move from the old international pier into the old bmi gates then FR would be able to park the five based PIK units on the old easyJet stands (4,5,8,10). I have landed from London on both gate 26 and 25 recently as this allows EZY to board an international departure from that stand. Hence airbridge served gates 26-23 would be an ideal easyJet operation.....
LPA 'timetable'

Log on to te LPA web site and look at the arrivals and departures. Then you can figure out where Ryanair go to and when. You can also see which flights are based a LPA and which are 'day trippable'.
Repeat this every day for a week and no time at all you have a weekly timetable.
Only problem is that it only gives flights for now - not far into the future.
But it may be a start.

skip, if fr were to go to gla, what do you think the future would hold for pik?
Hence PIK will offer FR anything to avoid that, they can't afford to allow FR to go as BAA Glasgow will finally have wiped them out. Long memory me!
