Totally agree with you.

JonnyH. EU 261 How was it known over a week ago that the flight would be cancelled? Just Curious.

I thought BA now insisted that the Titan kit was under 10 years old, hence the A320 and the other 320 they are getting in a couple of months?

The choice was made over a week ago what aircraft would be operating the flight. So they could have cancelled the flight then and the rule wouldn't have been applicable. But hats off to BA for honouring the flight!

Quick question, if anyone knows, has it been decided which A321s TCX will based this year? Newly delivered ones?

And what will TOM and LS be basing up at NCL this year?

It's not uncommon to see BA use a subbed 767, it's happened many times before, and you can't really comment accurately without all of the correct information.

I suspect BA will have agreements in place with the airlines they plan to use as sub-contractors, especially when it comes to cost. They'll know the cost of running the flight and the revenue it'll generate, then they'll decided to run it or cancel.

Somebody might have made a loss on it... Titan? given all of the other subby work they do for BA a small hit worth taking. BA? upsetting then losing those passengers versus their future spend, a small hit worth taking. Who knows?

The people running these airlines know what they're doing, even more so than the would-be airline executives and operations officers gracing this forum.

"They would have just been rebooked on the 12.05 or 14.45 flights. Not much difference really. Or cancelled one of the other flights."

Even better, cancel all flights that day, and put on a 744 late at night, therby improving LH aircraft utilisation as well

Are you being serious? There's a difference between what my suggestion of cancelling and what you're actually saying...

A HUGE difference. Don't put words in people's mouth.

Think about it.

Eastern NCL to BHX

I see today was the first day for AIS J31 to operate the NCL-BHX flights for eastern, the flights are now twice a day rather than thrice on the J41, i have noticed pax numbers have been low on this service for a while but i am told the flights this morning were full and this afternoons flight is on Embraer jet.
Does the Jetstream fly between the BHX rotations ?

BHX

Simon

I think this morning flights were cancelled both ways, duff information from me on another forum sorry about that, a case of 2+2 = 5.

I was checking on the AIS operation, which was listed for today when I checked the T3 website last week but last night it was greyed out and assumed as it was Spring Fair at the NEC it was full.

Oh no - didn't bother operating it.

I think a 145 turned up on Friday evening.

It does appear to operating tonight.

All a bit of a mess.

T3 BHX

As of yesterday evening the AIS J32 which is scheduled to operate the BHX has not yet arrived, therefore this mornings flight was combined with the CWL flight.

It was combined with the CWL(T34641), due to operate NCL-CWL-BHX but was subsequently cancelled when the J41 went tech.

Ash666, my spy at the airport tells me there were no baggage issues at the airport Saturday evening. They have asked that I ask you for the flight number of your flight so they can investigate further. They take poor performance very seriously and you do appear to be rather unlucky when using Newcastle as far as I can see. Let us know and they will lauch a full investigation.

It was TOM 1605 from Salzburg.
It landed a little bit early but no other pax in the luggage hall until an Innsbruck plane came in after us.
We landed about 19.55 and got away from the luggage hall (4 of us) at 20.47 (I checked!).

I suppose its different for me in London where it normally takes about 30 mins to get from the aircraft to the baggage hall, especially when you get the end gate of the pier, Gatwick or Heathrow.

Out of curiosity Ash, about what time did you arrive in the baggage hall?

Around 8pm.
I wasn't expecting my bags to be there already.

ps
It wasn't easy getting a taxi, either. Apparently they have an unwritten rule about an unmarked line which says that if you don't go further than the White Swan at Dinnington when you get back to the airport you go to the front of the queue so no-one wants to take you just a bit further on and go to the back of the queue.

I had a similar experience to ash66 off the TOM ex TRN last Sunday (26th). Also off the Flybe from SOU on Thurs evening last week (though not as long to wait, but still a good 20mins).

I don't monitor it, but subjectively, I'd say more than 70% of my arrivals in NCL with checked baggage see long waiting times. Arrivals after 7pm, virtually 100%.

Recently, I've noticed that the bags don't come through on a continuous basis, but in small batches with large gaps in between.

Yep, a loooong wait for the first bag then just a few at a time.

Does anyone know when the Aspire Lounge will open?

Seem to be on with it for ages, haven't seen it mentioned anywhere...
