...apparently the parts brought out on G-TUIF didn't fix it - so the passengers are still in Cancun. Parts are being borrowed from another 787 (any one know more?) to fix the problem.

Passengers are gearing up for the €600 each compensation claims.

I wonder if it would cost less to arrange an extra week in a resort AI to take some pressure off the airline if the passengers would forgo the claims (that is for people who have no urgent need to return)

...Later Edit

G-TUIF return flight from Cancun cancelled - so I guess that's where the parts are coming from. suppose it makes sense, the techs can bottom out the problem before the parts arrive - then just fit the needed part to get the second plane flying again.

Does anybody know what aircraft will be operating the LGW-AYT route (TOM720) on the 23rd June. Currently showing as a 752, but seen on an earlier post it will be operated by a 788?

Lgw's 2nd 787 doesn't start operating shorthaul mid July, the tom720 changes to the 787 on 21st July subject to the 789 arriving as scheduled.

Short haul Dreamliners

Hi,
I'll be on a Dreamliner flight from MAN to LCA this summer and due to pre-book seats next week, does anyone know if the front cabin is being sold as extra legroom or will it be available for everyone? I know that it has been configured for short haul with an extra 2 seats per row but was wondering if I will be able to book them. Also if not where is the best row to sit in the main cabin?
Thanks in advance

The front cabin are sold as extra legroom. Seating is purely down to personal preference

G-TUIJ should be arriving into Manchester on June 28th, incidentally details have emerged of what TUI will be doing with it over winter and unsurprisingly it's going to be spending it's first winter in the Nordics,

Thomson have a 767 G-OBYE flying today's Punta Cana route and was delayed for 5 hrs. Are the 767s set up in long haul configuration as its normally a 787 on that route?

No they're not, and they've 2 787s in shorthaul as well.

I know but I am assuming that Thomson use a L/H 787 for longhaul where possible. My question about the cabin configuration was because I (again) am assuming that seat pitch is greater on the longhaul dreamliner compared to a 767 configuration. If nor booking extra legroom seats 1s pretty pointless

A couple of years ago I went out to SFD on a 788 and the return was subbed for the above 763.... What a difference.

Those who had paid for premium was not happy either but at least they got refunded.

Tom 767.

Thomson 767s are planned to return to longhaul flying this coming winter ex UK, mainly on BGI and DXB routes. They were configured in the past with about 290 seats including a premium product.

Hopefully the 767's might have a similar product to the 787's?

We are flying TOM 834 in March 17 from NEW to BGI The flight times don't seem right at dep 1055 and arr. 1740. Is this a typo error or is the flight via another airport?

Arrival times are always in local time.... but that being said 2140 arrival would give you a very long flight time? So not sure 😖😖 dream liners out of the U.K. Are always direct usually

Yes it's supposed to be the 787, I believe the time difference is 5 hrs with a average flight time of 8 hrs 15 mins. This should give an, arrival at BGI 1410 hrs local time, cheers for your reply benji.
