Think its maintenance and the re-configuration work to economy seating to bring the Thomson fleet in line with other TUI groups(300 seats on all B787-8).

It would have been less work (and expense) to remove a row from the others...

...but then they couldn't put bums on them!

charters at MCO

some flights back eastbound to GLA and MAN did go home non-stop if the wx was favourable
And even to Gatwick - though it was very tight!

I can confirm that the 757's of Air Europe flew MAN - MCO with a tech stop and customs clearance at Bangor (flying time 6 hours 20 mins to Bangor and 2hours 55 mins from Bangor to Orlando). The return flight MCO - MAN was non-stop.

I can confirm that I flew MCO-LGW non-stop in a 757, though a tech-stop had been scheduled.

On the flip side, my other Florida trip saw an unscheduled outbound fuel stop at Charleston, SC on a BY 767 due to unusually strong headwinds. There were no customs there, so armed police stood at the door to stop anyone making a run for it!

Dreamliner Configuration

Flew to PUJ on 26 Nov 2015 on G-TUID, this was only 291 seats as there was loads of seat changes as people who booked extra leg seats, which I were one of the passengers affected, were moved from the back section (rows 31-36) to rows 11-14 and put in extra space seat. Leg room here was brilliant.

Thomson's Glasgow- Bodrum

Hi All,

I am writing to ask anyone knows who will opperate Thomson's Glasgow-Bodrum in S16 as per the December Edition Turkey Brochure?

I ask this as It is un-bookable at the current time and has been un-bookable since May of 2015

This year it was opperated by Tom until the end of July then switched to Tcx until october but tcx wont be opperating This route in S16 .

Kind regards
Alasdair Adam

The fact that it's not available to book should give you your answer surely.

It's like NWI - MLA has become unbookable for summer 2016 after so many years of operating Malta, Air Malta have pulled out of doing it, and I believe our based NWI Germania, doesn't have time and space in the schedule to operate it, bit of a shame really!

Flew with AMC a couple of months ago, there was a piece in the inflight mag about their return to profit business plan, which has been ongoing for a few years now.

Within this there was mention that they are reducing the fleet from 10 to 8 for 2016. I think it's 2 319's that are going.

Might explain why NWI is losing it's service?

(sorry for slightly OT, I realise this is the TOM thread)

Sounds like that could be the reason, thanks for the info didn't realise they were doing that.

I went slightly of topic with this but as it is sold through Thomson thought it was okay to post here

Summer 16

Even with the volativity of the Eastern Med & North Africa the summer 16 schedule has been reorganised big time at BHX. This is the April press release.

https://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/...s-sun-seekers/

Four out of five of those destinations are nowhere to be seen and I am not 100% convinced they ever made it to sale other than Alghero (I was looking to book) and that was for weeks rather than months.

It is easy to understand Turkey and Egypt but look at some of the destinations, Alghero, Split and Izmir (no direct bad news that part of Turkey) yet withdrawn along with a few Dalaman frequencies (understandable).

On the bright side for BHX they have added Spanish frequencies and the nearer Greek Islands and the extra based aircraft still seems to be happening.

It seems they are grappling with many potential risks and what do for the best.

Malta

Thomson continue to take seats on the BHX Air Malta but it has been converted to a schedule again although reduced from two a week to one.

Pete
