That is better than Norwegian, they did the same for take off/landing then locked them in the middle setting for 90%+ of a flight from LGW-LAX

Window Dimming Dreamliner

We only lock the windows in the clear setting for take off & landing outside that passengers have control.
Not true of all the crews!

In the flight I mentioned in the earlier post (TOM536, G-TUIE, BHX-CUN 10th Dec 2014), economy cabin, they were locked to the half level (the appearence is twilight) and the lights dimmed at 1:30PM - Just after the lunch trays were cleared away, and remained that way for 1.5 - 2 hours.

This was at the point where 'Passengers may be able to see Greenland from the right side since the flight path takes us just 100 miles to the south'.

The Steward in charge of the cabin spoke with a noticeable Spanish accent when making announcements.

This is the sort of thing that gets 1 out of 5 on the passenger feedback form.

Flew out to Lanzarote last week on G-OOBD, so been watching to see if its still based and BHX for the return flight, any ideas as to why it was diverted to EMA last night on flight number above from Tenerife, the weathers appauling at ACE and noticed loads of flights were diverted yesterday, but shouldnt be a problem landing back home for G-OOBD?

tom divert

depends what time it was due back into bhx.
i know back along the runway was closed some nights for runway repairs. i dont know if this is still the case, but if it it then that is why it diverted to ema
perhaps someone can verify the runway repairs have finished or not.

It was due in about 8pm, but got diverted to LPA on route to TFS, so left TFS late, would have been late by the time it reached BHX so if there was any night maintenance you'd be right to why it went to EMA.

BHX

miked11

BHX was closed as usual last night. In the week they use the last arriving Ryanair from Dublin as the marker 23.05 although Tuesday's were a little later.

It has even been closed Saturday nights but much later as Monarch arrive in after midnight but Sunday night/Monday morning it is open.

The original finish date was given as the end of the winter season with a break for Christmas and New Year but I think the hope was or is that it will finish earlier.

Thomson aircraft at BHX in some instances don't depart BHX until mid-morning and arrive back not long before the closure on certain nights (the aircraft's only flight of the day) such as Sharm, Hurghada, Paphos Boa Vista and Sal and the slightest tech or weather problem down-route and it is difficult to recover in time.

Some of the late morning departures are probably due to do with slots into the destination airport.

As it stands I think this is the first Thomson divert although Tuesday's AYT was close. In the context of balance other airlines have suffered due tech delays rather than weather - Monarch last week (tech in GIB) and a flybe EDI couple of weeks ago also diverted to East Mids.

Summer 15

Is there any more revisions due, as on the BHX thread it mentioned the 787 staying in BHX all week next summer operating a couple of short-haul flights, which is not showing in the brochure at present.

Also the BHX increases from their first edition are shrinking fast with one of the extra Dubrovnik flights chopped to make way for the ex TUI Sunday Palma, Onur Air Tuesday now chopped to Antalya and they using a Thomas Cook flight . This is forth BHX flight using Thomas Cook aircraft, their main competitor?

On an IT note is there a problem with the Thomson timetable? Some flights in there were removed from sale about four months ago?

787 flights from CWL.

Looks as if the 763 planned BGI and MBJ flight are now being operated by the Dreamliner. Little bit of good news for CWL!

That's next winter (15/16) not this winter. This winter is still as planned on 767.

Ah right, cheers for clearing that up. I did question this as a friend is flying to BGI and when selecting seats it was 763 config!

Currently sat on stand 5 at NWI waiting for a nice new/probably white paint job at Air Livery as it is now WFU with Thomson and will be awaiting a new owner currently not found yet, because it seriously looks horrendous at the moment when i arrived back at Norwich last night.

here's a link https://www.flickr.com/photos/55198703@N02/15755725887/

ps. not my photo, hope the owner doesn't mind link been shared

Will eventually be returned to leasing company, but until then it's just maintenance before hitting the transatlantics again...

I know this doesn't sound very exciting, but at NWI we rarely get new routes or increases in frequency.

But for the 2015-2016 winter season Tenerife will increase to 2x weekly, from 1x weekly.

Days are Thursday and Sunday
