Tel Aviv

Just looked at Thomsonfly Site and now it appears that both Luton and Manchester to Tel Aviv isnt bookable past 2nd November
Anybody know whats going on-Have they pulled the route after saying it was running for winter 08/09?

Judging by the prices they are asking in October they must be making profit on these routes (£345 from LTN)!!!!

Seems bookable now, right through the winter, from both LTN & MAN.

Thanks Powerjet1

Interesting though--i have just tried again and again it is only offering me October.
I have tried Flights to other destinations(Tenerife) without problems from LTN and MAN but not TLV for some reason.
I am currently in New Zealand , wondering if its because i am here and not in the UK trying to book.Shouldnt be a problem should it !!

Site keeps saying " The Flights you have selected are during a busy time or no Flights are Available at this time"---For all months !!
Even more bizarre is the timetable section doesnt even show the flights.

Will e-mail Tui and find out whats happening.

Thanks for your help

That price is the 'going rate' at the moment, We are going off to Sharm El Sheikh in Dec and we have paid nearly 600.00 each.

And that was the price in Jan when we booked.

Now Any flight or holiday more than 5 hours, The price has increased significantly.

767-200's

Does anyone know what the plan is with the 2 767-200's for winter and next summer now that they are back in service?
One is often doing flights from DUB, is this since Futura packed up?

The winter program came out to pilots the other day, the TLV will be operating all winter, sometimes on the 737, sometimes on the 757. The 767-200's will be operating the Hajj.

yep AA and AB will be off to Indonesia for some longhaul, perfect operation for those particular B767s....lots of power on a -204ER :-)

after that they're expected to leave the fleet, but who can tell.

I heard IF and IG which were sold to Silver whilst obviously never coming back to TOM are at least staying as flying machines, they've gone off to the middle east for cabin reconfig, so someone it taking them, nice to see they're not heading off to a desert now they're almost 19 years old :-)

I'm guessing there is an increase in demand for flights of around 5 hours for a couple of reasons:

1. Demise of XL who had a lot of services to Turkey, Greek islands and Egypt etc.
2. The exchange rate of the Euro is crap at the moment and it is much better value to holiday in Egypt, Turkey etc. which will probably be seeing an increase in demand.

Or maybe we all want to go to Isreal and Egypt!

BYALPHAINDIA if you're a TOM Driver why did you not use staff travel?? Surely better prices than that.

and using NPE's is hit and miss, only find out 48 hours beforehand if ya can go. Not great if you have a specific detination in mind. Much better to go standby, like me, in 3 hours to FAO

CVT closure

With the closure of the CVT base next month, does anyone know if the a/c is to be redeployed elsewhere or will just help with the 733 retirement? How many a/c were to be based during winter?

They are coming together as one on Friday, so will the FCA aircraft be in a basic Thomson Airways livery? and where are all the TOM and FCA aircraft based this winter and next summer?

Think the plan is - to run FCA & it's pink CC alongside TOM & it's blue CC until May 2009.

By May 2009 both fleets should be one livery.
