Thanks CabinCrewe. Glad of that - best twin-jet ever built. I had thought that a 738 would be pushing its luck a bit too far on that one, particularly the return with not too much runway to get off from, but needed reassurance !

The 757 is definately best for this route, but, some other TUI Airlines use their 738s to the Cape Verde Islands non-stop with a similar distance as from GLA.

Try book extra space seats if you're tall though as the space for such a long flight, especially on the ex-FCA a/c can be tight. (ex-TOM have Slimmer seats with more knee space as you probably know?)

Couldn't agree more. The flight length is an absolute ball ache unless you get extra leg room seats.

Wonder how often it will have to drop into TFS or FAO on the return for a splash and dash......

Grrr

I was told today and I have no idea how true this is, that Thomson had sold their early delivery slots of B787s to BA making British Airways the first UK operator.

"if" true then there has to be some deal in it to replace the b767's immediately specifically la/lo

Thanks for the trips on the extra space seats. Did Sharm el Sheikh on the 738 earlier this year - which is only 30 mins or so less than Boa Vista - and as I'm a short a**e it wasn't too bad. And yes, I'd half expect a techie in TFS on the way back if its a nice hot afternoon down BVC way and we've got a full pax load.

TUIfly 757s (including what is now G-OOBR) have done BVC-ARN capably for the previous few winters, and thats over 700 miles longer.

Can anyone help me regarding booking flights MLE-MAN-MLE? The online facility does not let me.
I'm based in MLE and would like to return to MAN (home)for my leave.

being a uk charter they wont let you book flights from MLE. I suggest you maybe try BA to Gatwick and then connect to MAN.

TOM104 was flown by an ex-FCA aircraft for the last three weeks .... but, according to Flight24, it did not go to SFB (unless it stopped there on its way to Cancun).

767-300 aircraft are scheduled to operate all Thomson Airways longhaul services. If you mean the actual reg then this wont be confirmed until a few days before and then even this can change.

Anyone know what TOM are basing in DUB next summer. Guessing a 738, would love a 757 and if a 738 do we know if it will be there own are leasing it from sunwing again. They have extend the flight times on DUB flights and the time aircraft are on the ground after there performance last summer.

BB and OX

As far as i know OX will be retired at some point in the not too distant future so will most likely not be painted. No Idea what is happening with BB as it has been with Skyservice and only returned permanently on a British reg when that airline went bankrupt.

Painting the fleet appears to have come to a complete halt so i dont expect BB to be painted anytime soon, as for the 767s there will be an interior refresh this winter so great news there but, again no plans to paint them, this has alot to do with the 787 delay (which is out of Thomsons hands) as they were supposed to be replaced much sooner with the 787s launching a new Thomson livery/Uniform.

The 787s should now be arriving in early 2013.
