TUI Airlines

Nearly all the aircraft are rebranded now, when is the airline actually due to be renamed?

It was only over in Amsterdam for a couple of days, covering a few flights.

G-OBYF has been at TUIfly all winter....was wondering when it was due back for the summer schedule?

Provisional look shows quite a few changes. Lots of apparent reductions and very little in the way of anything new or overt growth. The Jet2 effect?

Can anyone let me know does TOM weigh cabin bags, 5kg is stated on the booking site which is a bit mean compared to EasyJet which if you can lift it you are in!
Problem is no EZY to La Palma(SPC) in Nov but TOM are serving.

I've had mine weighed. Plenty of reports of them weighing hand luggage but no one can tell you if the agent on the day will weigh it or not. Best to stick within the rules then you don't get any unpleasant financial surprises.

easyJet have suggested that they are looking at expanding the La Palma services - along with Tenerife North - so I have a feeling it could remain, possibly next week when the second half of the winter is loaded.

Thomson

Just looked through LTN and STN schedules for S18 and both as it stands see significant cuts.

LTN is down to 2 based aircraft with just 26 weekly departures. Routes to BOJ, HER, JSI and AYT have been dropped with frequency cuts to PFO, CFU, FAO, IBZ, AGP, MAH, PMI and TFS

STN remains on 2 aircraft but down also to 26 weekly departures. No Long-haul for S18. AYT dropped and frequency cuts to HER.

Really quite a disappointing programme from TOM so far!

With this first release there actually seems to be significant reductions compared to this summer alone. Notably at MAN, GLA and LTN where i expect there will be a reduction in aicraft based. With the loss of long haul at STN i wonder if this will be transferred to another regional airport or await adding potential long haul routes / frequencies at MAN/LGW...

I do believe you're right in saying the Jet2 effect. They have really dumped in on the market this year. Extra aircraft, new bases and significant undercutting on Jet2Holidays prices to competing Thomson and Thomas Cook destinations... How long can they continue to do that for though is the question. It wont be sustainable for long.

Will GLA gain a 738 to cover the phasing out of 752s?

Perhaps they'll replace the bases where Sunwing aircraft are used?

There is no additional capacity for GLA and no 738 (except a 737 W pattern using ABZ aircraft).

Pres releases state MAN (and LGW/BRS) actually get increased capacity next summer, so, how can that be if a B737 is gone?

Also, very little new flying, so, where are these B737/B757 going?

As the TUI group gets increasingly integrated, presumably spread across Europe and a reduction in summer leases?
