Thomson to have 13 787's for 2016 including some 787-9. Current 2016 schedule only has requirements for 11-12 787's - are we likely to see any further growth/destinations or is the timetable finalised?

757

Hi all,
I was just wondering if the individual 757's follow a set of routes like the 767's do i.e: G-OBYE performs the same routes every week and occasionally switches with other aircraft when it isn't available to fly. So for example, does G-OOBD fly the same routes every week?

TUIB/H/I Were I believe the reconfigured ones, but can't be 100% accurate, as may they have changed.

It's not so much that a particular registration only operates to a particular schedule, but is more coincidence if it is operating the same schedule each week. The planned schedule is usually set by an aircraft type to be used for the duration of a season and not a particular frame. It is more common to see the same registration showing up at certain destinations with the 767 routes as there are now only 4 left in the fleet unfortunately. Aircraft also swap around bases (often down route) usually for maintenance reasons. Three of the 767 aircraft are currently based in MAN with the other at LGW. Hope that helps.

1 of the Based 737s spends all day going to NCL-PMI-NCL 3X , Im suprised theres not a 767 W pattern for that and get them down in pretty much one trip so the 737 can go elsewhere

TOM2316/7

Hi
I am scheduled to fly on the 12th August from MAN to PFO on TOM2316 and then fly back two weeks later on 2317. After tracking the flight for a few weeks now, it's a 757, however this week it was an unexpected Dreamliner so is it possible my flight will be on a Dreamliner too?

Check the seat configuration for your flight. If it's 3-3 it'll be a 737 or 757, but if it's 3-3-3 it'll be a 787.

Yes I have done, I know it's a scheduled 757 but so was the week just gones, but it was an unexpected Dreamliner which is what I'm asking if it's possible that we could get a surprise upgrade

As far as I know G-TUIH went down to PFO last week in place of 757 due to planned aircraft going tech.

G-TUIB and G-TUIH have been reconfigured for 325 seats for approx 6-7 weeks for shorthaul ops over july/august. It takes approx 1 week of hangar work to rearrange all the seats/wiring/PSU etc.
G-TUII was delivered with 300 seats which will be the new TUI group config, so by the end of winter 15, ALL the Thomson 787s will join the Arke and Jetair 787s as being 300 config. This allows the group airlines to use any other 787 if they wish, as the internal layouts will all be the same.

I have said before that NO one plane (737/757/767/787) is ever "based" at 1 airport. The planes are swopped around usually abroad. Over the last few years, the 6 week summer period (jul/Aug) has meant some strange aircraft basings, like 3x767@Man, but the other morning, LGW had 5x787!!!

Does anyone have updated info of which 787's are yet to have the new TUI seat config and roughly when they are due?

G-OOBA

Does anyone know if there is a problem with G-OOBA?

I only ask as I have noticed it seems to be flying rather slowly lately. For instance, just now, it's flying DLM-GLA at a speed of around 290 kts whereas G-CPEV is currently flying MAN-HRG at a more typical speed of around 460 kts.
