If you look at this site a very knowledgeable chap called Dazbo
Not the best person to ask, until last week he claimed he had insider knowledge they would not be opearting the FCA 767's on shorthaul and that they would all be gone by 31st July.... and you can find all the aircraft information easily on the internet -> BY2700 schedule. (Thomson flight: Manchester -> Fuerteventura)

so come to your own conclusions.

1) does anyone know which 767 is scheduled for TOM2700(which reg if possible) - It could be either.
2) Has anyone been on a FCA 767 and can tell me what the cabin is like in terms of comfort, if the aircraft has TV's etc..... - Depending on crew the IFE might be turned on to access map, games and cd collection, some will some won't it seems. Of course official line is short haul flight no IFE.

BM has operated it 3 times, and BL once.

BK (now gone), BL & BM to my mind were all more comfortable with 2-3-2 seating) than the Thomson planes with 2-4-2 seating.

IFE may show maps but other stuff where Thomson has to pay the copyright fee is unlikely. They may not even show the safety video and go back to the old method where they you real humans to read the scrip over the speakers and real humans to wave arms at the doors perform the demonstrations of oxygen mask and life vest.

By God would real humans be a great deal better than that awful video using a gang of screaming whining children to apparently point out the safety features of an aircraft! Don't know who came up with that video but it has been ruining the first 10 minutes of my holiday for the past few years.

Remember that it's only the bad press that tends to get reported. It's not newsworthy when things run as normal.

My own recent experience of the 787 (Gatwick - Cancun and back) was fine; no tech issues and flights operated on time.

787s in the pipeline

Boeing have line no 206 ready for delivery (20th Aug) and are making 10/12 a month - so that lets us work out when these planes will be more or less ready.
Line 245 - Tui Arke (thier second)
Line 260 - G-TUIG
Line 281 - G-TUIH
Line 291 - Tiu Nordic
Line 300 - Tui Nordic

That will make the count 13 (Thomson 8, Arke and Nordic 2 each, JetAir? 1)

Will one of these be a rotating spare - to cover non-availability of one for maintenance?

(by the way - I still think it's a pity they didn't do 2-5-2 seating - admitted you get an awful seat on each row, but it's no worse than a window seat with no window, and would work well for families as well as couples)

Not pretty I guess, now due 07:00 Monday. Tech or operational issue?

That's what I'm worried about. IE had more engine issues today, I'm led to believe
It's operating more or less on time to Sanford today.
Is G-TUIE broken again? Stuck in Cancun this time?

Landed there 23-Aug- around noon local time ... 48 hours ago??

Thomson G-TUIE has gone tech and now needs a left engine replacement. A few weeks ago it needed right engine replacement
The right engine failure was due to a gearbox problem mid-atlantic - the plane put down in the Azores and was repaired there.

Thomson won't be impressed - the no-win, no-fee lawyers are no moving to this market for the €600 per-passenger claims for delays of over 6 hours.

Is this a GE problem or are the RR powered 787s also having as many problems? Only ask as I was surprised they went GE given the RR factory is just up the road.

I wonder what the Dispatch reliability has been on the B787 compared to other types in their fleet.
